GOOD NEWS people.

So i was down and out like all everyone else here and i posted about verizon's EPIC FAIL on facebook. An old high school buddy, whom i forgot worked for verizon asked why. I explained and all he said "incredible will be shown tomorrow"

I didn't go looking or asking for - so I'd take it a little more serious then some of the other stuff.

At least anyone reading this may sleep a little easier tonight!

Can you please provide a picture of your status and your friend's comment? :)

Yeah, I haven't even begun to lose faith. The phone exists, and IMHO, is too far along in development to be shelved, or pushed back for a few months. I think that, with or without an announcement at CTIA, this phone is still going to be out by the end of April, and probably sooner. Granted, an announcement would make us all feel better; the good news is that you get to wait for this beast in one of the most beautiful places in the country!

As for me, I plan on being just as unproductive at work tomorrow as I was today:D

hahaha!! I have tomorrow off - I don't go on assignment again until Friday. Chances are that I'll be hovering in the vicinity of the VZW store which currently houses that damn HTC box... and if that rep shows up, I'm gonna pounce!!

And it DOES make it a bit easier - waiting for that phone here in Montana. That photo in my avatar is just 30 minutes from my home! :)

Hey guys, veryyy long time lurker. Been reading this thread ever since it was at page 9 or 10. Like people have previously said, I believe that if Verizon is going to announce anything, it'll be tomorrow. Today was Sprints day to show off their device, theyre just getting their spotlight right now. BUT I believe that if vzw is actually going to announce it, it'll be within the first few hours of it starting to kind of steal the limelight from sprint. I highly doubt they're going to give a release date, other than "coming soon." It wouldnt make sense to give a solid release date while theyre still trying to dump their droid and eris stock. All in all, I'm looking forward to tomorrow, but I'm sure not holding my breath.

You mean, kind of like they are sold everywhere else except the US!

There's no way, you'll be able to get a phone model that isn't sold through subsidized channels with enough volume to make it cost effective for the manufacturer. Look at how hard it is for google to sell phones, and they even include a subsidized pricing option.

Right, but I would bank on the fact that HTC's big customers (VZW, Sprint, TMO) would have something to say about it. They don't want a bunch of unlocked world phones on their networks on month-to-month contracts.

Nice first post! Better than most I've seen! :) It sure would be nice to see VZW scoop Sprint by announcing the phone tomorrow and then slam-dunking them by saying something like, "Why wait til summer when you can get the Incredible in just a few days?"

I'm not going anywhere guy! I'm here, i'm with you....

Now pardon me while i got back to doing what i was doing before i took time out to post this, which is chasing people down who were/are at the conference and trying to figure out what happened.

Where's Anonimac been tonight? In his last post he said he was trying to figure out happened today. He had been told that there would be a "non-spec related surprise" today about the Incredible. He had to of talked to someone by now, what's going on. Anonimac, fill us in please!

Google's problem is you can't touch the phone before you get it, no one knew anything until a friend had it, I am not talking about that. I am talking about us+people we know putting up money to have a MANUFACTURER, manufacture something for us, think about how much you would pay yourself, I admit $20 ain't going to cut it but if you were going to pay 200-300 anyway and you had 10000 people pay that, it's 3 mil, now I don't know how much HTC would charge for quantity but I do know that is go amount of money, for a direct amount and something they already know you want.

Man I'd love to be off for a few days right now! Go get 'em!:D

I figured that pic must be close to you- I haven't spent much time in Montana, but I have spent a lot of time in Jackson, WY (similar topography), and all I can say is- If I could do it, I'd move there in a heartbeat!

Welcome!

What is VZW going to say, By law if the phone can go on their network by radio requirements, they have to allow it or be penalized by the FCC, imagine what kind of bad press nightmare that would be!

This is the incredible right now...

Waiting for the right moment to take down the evo 4g...

I couldn't help but notice the new EVO 4G was red on the inside as well. Maybe some manufacturers had a lot of excess red plastic and HTC bought them all.

Maybe so, but I'm sure there are ways of putting pressure on HTC not to do it.

Don't get me wrong; it would be great if we could do this. I just don't think it's possible.

How would your plan be any different....I doubt Verizon is gonna put demo phones of a product that they aren't gonna profit from in their stores. 3 Million for production costs, research, testing of a phone seems pretty low.

plus, not everyone would get one,,,,they aren't gonna exchange a phone with the specs we all want for 2-300 bucks. The price would be higher fer sher.

basically if it even was possible, we would pay out the ass and it wouldn't be worth it

Settle down. I think your response speaks for itself. Your anger comes out of the fact that you got all excited like the rest of us just to be completely disappointment. Don't direct that anger towards me young man.

Let's get a few things straight here Cupcake. My response had nothing to do with a phone.

I'm not angry about today. The phone will be out soon. What bothers me, not necessarily making me angry, is people like you who claim that others "made" you waste a day refreshing this website for news. Then, when nothing came out, "You were had." It's that pathetic attitude, where nobody wants to take responsibility for their own actions that irritates me. Quit blaming those that giving us whatever little bit information they dig up and take responsibility for your own actions. No wonder this country is going into the toilet.

And don't think I didn't get the patronizing tone there 'young man'. I'm not young and this ain't my first rodeo.

parting thoughts for tonight...

1. disappointed we didn't hear anything about the incredible today but not discouraged in the least. I have been eligible for an upgrade since droid launch week in Nov. I have been and will continue to be patient while waiting for the right device (for me).
2. verizon didn't promise us anything, doesn't owe us anything.
3. I trust the handful of informed members that gave us what info they could, they gave us the best info available - THANK YOU, and please continue your good work!
4. I really wish there would be a lot fewer BS posts to have to wade through here.
5. if you post a link to some stale story and then include a disclaimer like "I don't know if this means anything", all it means is you don't know sh$t and just wasted all of our time and created more forum clutter. post IF you know it means something.
6. take a little time to catch up on the last 10 or so pages instead of just asking if there are any updates or news since you've been out shopping or playing grab-ass. It's the cross we must all bear here.
7. even iPhone fanboys KNOW verizon has the best network coverage. period. they may not admit it, they may try to sling out some obscure att stat, but they KNOW. 90% of them b$tch about att. so, stop inciting arguments here on a subject that makes you look like a fool.
8. I will follow the updates here tomorrow with guarded optimism. and the next day, and the next...
9. I think the EVO looks awesome, great specs.
10. I will not leave verizon. not for the iphone, which I admire, not for the EVO, and not for the next all-world superphone. I have a few complaints, but all the other carriers suck. it's just that simple.
11. I believe android has the best mobile future. it will run my next phone.
12. sorry for the minor rant in #4-7 above. nothing personal.

Gorgeous up here... that pic was taken in Glacier National Park. It's... well... incredible! :p Drop by anytime!

Listen, again I am not saying this could or would happen all I am saying is it would be worth a shot, that's all, what if they said yes what if it was enough money, what if the press got wind of what we were doing and put VZW in an awkward situation, it's all an if. Here is another if, "If everyone thought things were not possible and they couldn't be done or cost to much nothing would get done" Your other option is to accept what they give you and keep waiting til they decide to do something you like. Think about it the EVO is awesome, but if you had your way would it have a TFT screen, I bet not, but it's not your choice, it's Sprint's
