Quick off topic observation, but if NKT saw the incredible and the vzw nexus one...

That would mean the vzw nexus one is being tested...and wouldn't that imply verizon will sell it directly? Otherwise, if google was just selling a phone that was capable of being used on verizon, vzw would have no purpose testing it...you dig?

NKT, thoughts?

They test and approve all phones activated on their system.

I said I would LOL if the Supersonic popped up with no mention of the Incredible. I certainly had a good chuckle over it. Too bad chances are looking slim for an announcement.

I'll hold off my upgrade for a bit longer till we get some solid Incredible info. I can wait till summer anyway. I've waited this long. Verizon can do whatever they want, I'm not gonna get pissed at them like many of you have. I mean really, people. Don't lose sleep over this stuff! :p

But I'll say this: Sprint may very well have a new customer come summertime. The Evo is just a breathtaking piece of machinery. Good friggin' god. Amazing.

okay after a long and depressing day, I am worn out since our "Incredible" wasn't released or mentioned at CTIA. I have been waiting since December to replace my crappy BB Storm 1.

Like I said last night, I'm going to bed in hopes of waking up in the morning to some "Incredible" news at CTIA. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for all of us VZW customers.

GOOD NEWS people.

So i was down and out like all everyone else here and i posted about verizon's EPIC FAIL on facebook. An old high school buddy, whom i forgot worked for verizon asked why. I explained and all he said "incredible will be shown tomorrow"

I didn't go looking or asking for - so I'd take it a little more serious then some of the other stuff.

At least anyone reading this may sleep a little easier tonight!

After a good night's sleep to gain some clarity, it kinda makes sense that the Incredible might get announced today, or even tomorrow. You don't blow all your big announcements on day 1 of a 3-day conference, watering down the excitement for each individual device. I'm sure since HTC is involved, it was coordinated with the EVO announcement. That being said, if it does play out this way, I'm STILL disappointed that Verizon's phone played second fiddle. I still think they should have had a day 1 announcement over the EVO. Unless of course, they had no idea Sprint's concoction was going to be so overwhelmingly spec'ed and figured they'd save the best for last. Backfire. I think Verizon rolled the dice and came up short, Vegas-style. At least they still have their plane tickets.

Yeah, I think today honestly makes more sense considering what Sprint offered up yesterday. I don't know though, I think the Incredible will be a phone that will have more mass appeal to more people. I know the EVO is a badass phone, but I'm not sure that it would be right for everyone. Honestly, it's not right for me. I'm not just trying to make myself feel better because Sprint got a badass phone and we're left with empty hands. I still think the 4.3" size is just too big for me. I've said this in the past as well, and I'm sticking to it. I know a lot of people say, and it's true, "well, it's only like a quarter of an inch bigger." While that's true, it's kinda like a pair of shoes to me. I wear as size 10. So, if someone tried to tell me, "Why not get a size 9 1/2?" Well, because it's just a little bit too small and in some cases, even just a 1/4 of an inch can be too big. For me, and perhaps others, 4.3" would not work in the kind of jeans I wear. 3.7" is even almost too big, but would work, 4.3" is just too big. End of rant.

The hubby isn't allowed to have his phone on him at work so I am just using his for a little while. I know I could just go get a phone and return within 30 days but if I can avoid doing so, I would like to. So I am sporting an Alias 2 for a few weeks. Not a bad phone. I'll be happy with an April release. I have enough issues without adding crazy phone obsession to them.

Speaking 4 myself and many others, Hope that today will be the day of good news, so we can all be back on the good foot. It's been like the christmas day syndrome, looking around at all the wrappers and thinking, now where in the hell is The Present, I mean hell, It's gotta be here somewhere. alas the doorbell rings, and low-and-behold the late relative has just arrived with The Present. Since this is Vegas Roll those dice Droidnauts. and be happy once again. PS. cross your fingers and toes.

Hope everyone has an incredible day. I have high hopes our phone will be announced today but even if it's not we know it will be soon so let's not get too down if it's not. Will be trying to keep up with this thread as much as my poor sluggish storm will allow.

The thing I don't understand is why would HTC send the box Fed Ex on a Sunday it the announcement isn't until middle of the next week?

You know, the issue with the EVO is the WiMAX. 120 million people are supposed to have coverage from WiMAX, but I still don't. In college I took a wireless lab and we did tests with WiMAX... big issue was with battery life so we'll have to see what happens with that.

The N1 isn't going to be sold in stores based on the information I've been given.

The reason it's still tested by VZW is that it's going to go on the network. It wasn't widely distributed for testing like other devices though so the testing program is different already. That's another reason why I think it won't be sold in stores.

Add to this the fact that no other carrier is selling it in stores.

I know when testman came up back we talked about the unlimited mobile to mobile for $39.99. Check it out this morning.

Mobile Service Plans: Verizon Wireless

Unlimited minutes to any number on any network.

Again my apologies if this has been discussed. Hard to read every post of 10+ pages since yesterday

Could we be getting ready to see data prices go up, if this voice is indeed coming down?

In case any one wants to email him about the Incredible.

hmm...
I just sent this email to him. Twice:

"Faithful Verizon customer here (orig contract 2000, month to month currently), I just wanted to pass along my observations:

1. Verizon does have the best network. eg. coverage / customer service.

2. Verizon lags behind competitors in smart phone hardware.

For the past couple of years its been painful to see the iPhone as an AT&T exclusive phone. Now at CTIA, Sprint releases the HTC EVO 4G and this is closest thing to a true iPhone killer. With all the rumors of the HTC Incredible and no announcements of a high end smart phone for Verizon, I fear of customers leaving Verizon to go where the hardware is. I'm inclined to join them if Verizon doesn't get with the high end smart phone program. And yes, the Droid is an amazing phone, but with a slide out keyboard that is more or less useless due to the tightly laid out keys and inability to reach the top row of keys, it makes it more of a detractor than a benefit. I don't want a sliding keyboard that can break if I can't use it.

Thanks for your time. Please announce / mention the HTC Incredible soon!"

But as soon as I clicked "send" the page closed. I'm wondering if its supposed to do that, or if what. Here's hoping it actually makes it further than his spam folder!

Keeping fingers crossed for something today!

Not sure about their area but with all these FREAK crazy snow storms maybe they wanted to make sure it was in the store for when the rep did get there...

As a side note guys, when the touch pro 2 came out for verizon, I was in the local corporate store a lot and calling a lot and none of the employees had any idea when it was coming out. A few had never even heard of it before while a couple of them knew about it but only from the internet. Even the day before I was able to order it, they still didn't know about it. Just food for thought.

OT humor to get the day started...

Eris....Droid...Evo....Dildo...I think some of the girls asked in earlier posts for a good vibrating phone....

Flame on!

LOL or it could be a year's subscription to the jelly of the month club........That's the gift the keeps on giving the whole year through, Clark!

The trend was starting to look great, everyone was dropping the unlimited prices.. not sure about data but they will charge as much as they can get away with!!!!

That being said, if it does play out this way, I'm STILL disappointed that Verizon's phone played second fiddle. I still think they should have had a day 1 announcement over the EVO.

How could the Inc possibly NOT play 2nd fiddle during this show? Back up a few steps and look at it from a more general point of view... Screens are getting bigger and bigger, so 4.3" > 3.7" must be better. Networks are getting faster, so 4G trumps 3G. Front facing camera for video chat. 720p video. HDMI. Etc., Etc.

I've been following this thread for weeks, and sadly, reading most of the thousands of useless posts written by guys who sound shockingly desperate for a stinking phone to be this moment's idea of their perfection. Seriously, go get some fresh air. You are bound to have a killer VZW phone soon. Just because you're hitting F5 every 30 seconds and hours feel like weeks should not make waiting a few weeks or even a month so terrible. Relax and stop micro-analyzing every single shred of evidence that something might be out there. Have some faith, sit back, and wait. It will happen.

Yeah $39.99 would be sick.

The wording is kinda sketchy... When they refer to network do they mean mobile phones only or does network include landline service? Probably just mobile the more I think about it

Maybe they just changed the wording on the banner?

Either way I'll take $39.99 to any # on any network. But if data goes up from $29.99 a month to say $49.99 a month I'll be pissed.

Originally I thought this was slick marketing to fool people as their any number on any network I feel means only unlimited mobile to mobile minutes and that you would still have a set of minutes, but then I was enlighten to that it's half the price it use to be.

So yes cheaper which is nice but still probably has a limit on minutes to all the non mobile numbers you might call.

Thanks for clarifying! Yeah it still isn't bad (for me anyway). I mostly call cell phones. I wish they'd bring unlimited txt down to $15 haha
