Root JellyBean anyone?

Yeah, looking at what's wrong, it's definitely not one to be used as a daily driver, but still excellent that someone has got it ported!

Look forward to your thoughts when/if you install.
 
Think I will give it a go, but maybe wait until the weekend/next week when I'm off work. Just so I can have a bit of a mess around with it. Gonna keep my eye on that thread though and, as soon as something resembling a daily driver turns up, will get a link in the sticky :)

Kudos on keeping your ear to the ground on an old (to you) device!! :D
 
that is totally sweet! :cool: all these JB roms starting to pOP UP. this is even more functional than the one i flashed on my sensation! :eek:

ill give it a go as well.
 
it ACtually runs very well. pretty smooth,it wont take much for this to be DDable once the camera is functional.

currently the camera app is just missing so it doesnt cause issue. superuser was missing as well :eek: if you want to use titanium or other root apps,just flash the latest supersu: [16.07.2012] SuperSU v0.94 - xda-developers actually i installed v93 and its working fine... havent tried the newest yet

later i will put my sim in and text the phone,mms,etc. :cool:

its defiantely worth a flash if you need your "fix" :D
 
i tried a couple as well,but no luck.. pretty much every one i looked at in the market was just an effects app that needed the stock camera. i tried the polaroid app since it said something to the affect of being "stand alone" but it didnt work either.

nigsy,did you try pulling the camera out of an ics rom and installing it?

No I haven't, I did go through the threads on XDA for the ROM, it looks like the developers are waiting for HTC to release the specific piece of code to get the camera functioning.

I'm still waiting for a decent camcorder on ICS, so I wont hold my breath for anything in Jellybean. But as JellyBean isn't a full upgrade, rather ICSv2, it might use the same base code....who knows??

Once ICS drops for the DHD, the drivers will be hacked by the ROM devs and I think you should see a fully functioning camcorder :)

this is the first time ive played with it,so i cant say how much its improved or not,but i personally found the rom to run very well,and the ui quite smooth for an alpha rom.

i popped my sim in it yesterday and did not have any trouble with sms or phone calls. i found the craiglist app not to work(it would just close),and at one point i had to reboot becasue the writing in the status bar and app lables had become scrambled :eek:

i was able to get a gps lock on 6 satelites inside,and had no trouble with data checking phandroid and email.

i experienced 1 or 2 random reboots.

i noticed this morning that beta one is now available,check the linked thread :D the mic FC in apps issue has been resolved,looks like camera is the main bug now

I'll get a link in the sticky, as things seem to be moving quite quickly.

Hopefully not too long away from having a daily there then :)

I meant more compared to ICS. One of the new features of jellybean was 'Project butter', which supposedly makes the UI much more responsive on the Nexus 7/Galaxy Nexus. I'm curious to see if he has any effect on our phones though.

And yeah, that bug with the scrambled writing is a problem even with ICS at the moment :(

oooh gotcha. it is not as smooth or polished as ice cold sammich,but when its had as much refinement as that rom has,maybe we will see a difference then?
 
just thot id bring this back up since were up to beta 7 :cool:

the bug list is real short now(tethering) so good progress is being made. i flashed beta 7 yesterday and overall first impressions are really good. got a new JB update for my sensation as well,so ill try that for a couple days and then pop my sim into the inspire :D
