BTW, just my opinion, but I think this isn't the shipped/shipping ROM, since the filename says NoDriver at the end, indicating that....theres no drivers (probably cause they weren't finished yet). But really, just a guess.

This is basically the software for the phone. The android os and all the other drivers etc that go along. If you have never Flashed a ROM stop at this point. This isn't that important as we alredy know the phone exists this is just another confirmation and could lead to some info on the specs or clarity for that matter.

Windows uses 1024B = 1KB, therefore it's 786,432 bytes.

In addition, the system.img does list the Incredible and the Supersonic in it.

Nuts. It makes the splash1 a tad too big (assuming HTC engineers are true engineers, and are lazy and use stuff that already works...AND assuming the screen res is what it is).

Only other item I'd try is to rip apart the boot image to extract the kernel. Course, people here would already have tried that... :D

(For those, HOWTO: Unpack, Edit, and Re-Pack Boot Images - Android Wiki for the boot, and http://www.cs.caltech.edu/~weixl/research/fast-mon/scripts/extract-ikconfig to further abuse things...but it's been a while since I've mucked with the ARM architecture...dunno if they use that trick)

Thanks for explaining it to me. So I guess I downloaded it for nothing bc I'd have no clue what I'm looking at!

Thanks again

What did you eat? I've been getting stomach pains for the last three days. Plus I dreamt last night that my wife bought me a Droid for my birthday today.

Happy Birthday and I know the feeling...

When the droid hit like $50 last month I told my wife I guess I want this for my b-day(March 26th). (I had been hoping for some info on a better phone than the droid but nothing concrete had been announced.) Later that day I told her to forget it and I am just going to wait for something better.
Skip ahead to this week and I'm all Willy Wonka for the Incredible. The Droid drops its price again and my wife says hey its 20 dollars now to bad its 100 a month. I told her I don't really want the droid anyway. She says "I know but you better hope I didn't end up getting it for your bday". Holy ballsac what do I do now. Can't be ungrateful if I do get the droid but man that will suck having to take it back what she got me.

Yes first post and no new info. :(

can we pull the boot img out and convert to a jpg gif ?

My wife sometimes reads over my shoulder because she finds you all so entertaining. She just told me that she thinks she might want to get an Incredible, too...because everyone is so excited about it.

So thanks a lot, guys - you just cost me an extra $30/month.

:D
