Made me think... $49.99 for Inc 4G

Check out this deal from @VerizonWireless:Â*http://bit.ly/OJGvCz

I checked on new customer and on upgrading and both said $49.99 of Inc4G. Last I looked that was $100 less.

That's a great deal for this device. Even cheaper then at&fee's Motorola matrix hd

lolz, more evidence this phone is a failure. Price dropped to 1/3rd the price in less than 2 weeks. Expect it to be free soon. Simply no way this phone can compete at any price range.

They drop the price to help it sale. Most people are going for the Nexus & GS III because that's what's being promoted in the stores.

What is funny is that the Galaxy Nexus is currently $149.99 but was $49.99 when I got it (minus my $50 credit... freeeee). The lower price is not always permanent

For some reason I cannot get any vendors outside Verizon to see my account information. I'm the second line on a family plan in my wife's name. I enter the correct information but it never works, not for this site, not for Amazon, or any of those other too-good-to-be-true deal web sites. Guess I'll just have to wait until Verizon itself decides to have a sale.

Have you called customer service at the site

I'm still not decided whether or not to keep my 4G, and then I go to Amazon and see that they don't even seem to carry this phone at all! If you search the sight for "Droid Incredible 4G" you will see accessories for this model, but I did not see the phone itself. I just wanted to find out the current price (after five days) and view any ratings there. Wow! I really am concerned regarding future support into my new two-year contract, and that all-important question of will any mod dev ever support this phone?

Despite the 4G being even smaller than the OG (and I could see it really was bigger than the DINC 2), I still like my phone and am trying to figure out why (other than screen size) it isn't selling. It's built like a tank (without being so big), it's got a brighter screen than OG by a a long shot, it's blazing fast on the network, the battery beats the crap out of the Razr unless you pay for the MAXX (which still isn't impressive and spare batteries are not an option) the UI is snappy and well-behaved, and it isn't some feminized fashion-whim color such as berry or funkoid-white!

Can it all be in the in the size? That said, I like to read books on my phone, and the OG wasn't really too small for my tolerance. Because HTC went and made the just-perfect screen size even smaller, I'm now considering trading 4G in for something bigger, even if that means getting something too big to carry around in any shirt pocket (yeah, I'm a nerd)!

I'll tell you why......its because its the same phone as the original Incredible....

There is zero innovation in the Incredible 4g, the design is severely outdated, its uses low quality materials and parts, build quality is poor, Its thick and bulky, the red button and speaker grill color scheme coupled with the low quality feel make it look and feel like a cheap children's toy.

The Incredible 4G is a low-end phone with a fast S4 chip. The sales numbers and 3rd party support are evidence of this.

HTC makes great devices, its just that Verizon ruined it....

Was this supposed to be funny? You call the 4G low end and feels like a children's toy and then say HTC makes great devices........ lol

No innovation? Have you even used a DINC 4G? If so, please elaborate, I would really like to know what advanced technology which other phones in its range have - I was willing to spend up to $200. For this price or less, I have compared live the Motorola Razr, which does not have ICS, a dim screen, you cannot swap out your battery for a charged spare after using it all day in the airport (Razr won't last that long unless you pay another $100 dollars for the bulkier and not-so-razor-like MAXX version) and then go right on working. DINC display quality never won HTC any awards, but 4G is a major improvement over the past generation of this model, and the past generation DINC made the store-model-Razr display look horrible! HTC has also re-tooled the hardware button scheme, which I'll admit I hated at first, but now it's growing on me because separate keys for the functions of backing out of an app and going to the Home screen saves much hassle when using a car dock app. Razr, just like many phones of all prices, kept the same Googlishious hardware button layout, including the useless Search button!

Oh, and let's not forget the Gorilla-glass! My friend's Evo didn't have this, and while he was seated at the table it fell to his dinner plate and shattered! The plate was undamaged.

So please, have the decency to back up your statements concerning "quality" and "innovation" - I'd really like to know specifically what you mean regarding these categories. Specifically I'd like to know what you can cite which has nothing to do with color scheme. Color is only about fashion, and personally, I will always prefer slick black with red accents (no matter how I feel about Verizon, and ALL American network distributers degrade the functionality of their phones), over fashionista berry or jizz white!

If you can compare differences in specific functions, specific quality issues, and other specifics which perhaps some us old DINC users may not be aware of, it really would be appreciated!

I like that the phone isn't huge like the GS3. And It does stay true to the Incredible Lineage in size & the way it was designed. But IMO Verizon kind of got the short end of the stick as it doesn't have all the features & goodies that the One Series & Sprint's EVO 4G got. That is really my only gripe. But I still plan on getting the phone as I love my original Inc, & the fact that I may be able to grab it for $50 bucks is just speeding up the time that I will get it.

I've had the Inc 2 since it was released and it has been a really reliable phone. VZW recently turned on 4G in my area so there is finally a reason to upgrade :) The only reason I may not get the Inc 4G is if I decide on a larger screen. Otherwise the dual core CPU, ICS and 4G make it a worthy upgrade to the Inc 2 IMHO.

This is a good deal. Is there a way to transfer upgrade eligibility from a different Family Plan line? This can be done easily on the VZW website, but I don't know about doing it through HTC...

Sorry, but I didn't mean to offend by posting misinformation! I don't know how recent the relevant took place at Amazon, where I bought my DINC OG two years ago (others have called it "OG" although I'm not even certain what that stands for after googling it).

Anyway, I found the new Amazon ridiculously confusing, and how can you call it anything other than ridiculous for it's inconsistency? It inconsistently permits the sale of some actual phones, such as the Evo on the main site, but Amazon hasn't the sense to cross-link your search to items on it's own phone site! Apparently this is so, if you found 4G while on the Amazon Wireless site, and I searched from where I should expect to be further up the same tree.

The new Nexus One looks like quite a beautiful phone, but the original Nexus also impressed with its innovations - then people found out that lots of apps would not run on their phone because of those innovations (I think, after looking up the wiki that there was a multi-touch guesture support feature which got in the way), not so well-thought-out for development. I know this because I have tested 1000+ apps over the past two years. I carefully read developer information, and while I never saw DINC on the list of problem phones, I was frequently glad I didn't have a phone with one of two words in the name (they run together in my head, so I won't try and be more precise than I can) - those phones were often a variant of Galaxy or Nexus! Sorry I didn't take notes, so I cannot list specific apps which the devs posted warnings on - I'm just trying to share my personal experience as a DINC owner.

With the Nexus One being so popular now, I suppose developer support may change in the future. But I only found it available through T-Mobile, which is not a reliable carrier for those who do not live and work in major cities. I'm probably too new to be permitted to post URLs, but there is a site called "CellReception" and the rest you can google or guess - if you are in a smaller city, look it up and review recent comments before you commit to this company, especially if you don't have a land line.

Are you talking about the Galaxy Nexus?? The Nexus One was the HTC made original google nexus device. Not trying to nit-pick but I find that I am slightly confused about what you mean

Well yesterday at&t/HTC dropped the price of the One X to $99 with a two year contract. Moto's Atrix HD came out with a $99 price. Expect the Atrix to drop since the One X dropped to its price. All this is due to the Galaxy S3 dominating the market. I expect it to continue until the next Nexus comes out. If Google was smart they'd launch it on all 4 major carriers.,

Yeah they dropped the price of the One X, but not the One S on T-Mobile. How the hell did AT&T get the GS3 in red? One would've thought that would be a Verizon exclusive

Well now that VZW is talking about taking away Unlimited Data for anyone who wants to upgrade, looks like I may not be getting this phone & am considering moving to Sprint since they have a better HTC phone with the EVO 4G LTE. I'd rather not pay full price for this phone & def don't want to buy it used.
