Root LG Optimus Elite Root (VM696 Virgin Mobile)

I have two problems. (First problem) I successfully flashed my phone "as far as I know", but when I got to the step where you push the su and jc.sh files, it kept telling me it couldnt find my device. I have all the drivers that I needed installed so I dont know why it was telling me that. (Second problem) After it was tellin me that it couldnt find my device, I was tired and decided to figure out the problem the next day. The next day when I tried to plug my phone into my computer it wont show up in my ports now, and it also wont show up in LGNPST. I even tried to put my phone in download mode and it still wont show up in my ports. The only thing that shows up in my device manager is "Other Devices" "USB Device" with a question mark beside them, which I assume means its unrecognized. I cant figure out what happened to make my computer not recognize my phone now. Im running windows XP Professional 32bit.

Okay, ivknowbits annoying but we have to ask the basics. Are you in debug mode? Have to enabled modem mode from the DIAG menu? Are you using a different USB port? Are you using the USB cable that came with the phone?

And also before you can use adb to push files or whatever else you must enable usb debugging in Settings > Applications > Development and check usb debugging
 
also make sure you dont have any typo's in cmd, One of the guides had abd instead of adb in one of the commands, to make sure you are connected type in adb devices, also, you have android sdk and java installed right?
 
Yep I have diag mode enabled and debugging enabled. This is what happened, I flashed my phone the tired to push the files with adb, when it didnt work, i decided to figure it out the next day. But when I tried to plug it in the next day, it all of a sudden doesnt recognize my phone. It seems like after I got past the step where I flashed my phone and then unplugged it and pluged it back in, it doesnt wanna recognize my phone. What shows up in my device manager is "Other Devices" and then under that is " CDC Serial" along with 4 unrecognized USB devices. It Looks like this-
?Other Devices
?CDC Serial
?USB Device
?USB Device
?USB Device
?USB Device
This was not there before
And yes I have all the drivers installed
Nothing has changed, it was working until after I flashed my phone.
I dont know if flashing my phone has anything to do with it, but I know it worked even after I flashed it, but once I unplugged it and plugged it back in, it didnt recognize my phone.

Somebody in another thread noticed that when their phone was in DIAG mode, adb wouldn't read it. Turn DIAG mode off and retry it.
 
Was wondering if there is a .tot file out there of the original on-root image? I had thought I had seen it at one point. I want to test out the other root methods and wanted to put my phone back to stock non-root.

Thoughts?

Yep I tried it like that and adb still doesnt recognize my phone. Im not even so much worried about adb right now. I just wanna figure out why my phone is not being recognized all of a sudden. it wont show up in the com ports ever since I flashed it. If all else fails, is there any other way to install the su and jc.sh files onto the phone?

Nevermind I fixed it. I had to use my friends windows 7 computer. And also I saw where you cant use a wifi tethering app. But I assumed you could after rooting your phone. But apparently not.
