Really? This is different than what I was hearing from others. Ok, so now the one/two bar issue is still present as well....this update is starting to seem more placebo than anything.
 
I'm up on the new leak. Reinstalling ALL my apps now. Mine went almost too smooth. Was thinking I just did a wipe instead of an update. Last time I could have sworn I had to do a Vol Down during the upgrade. This time I just did two Trackball pushes and all was done. I never saw another update screen with a March date on it... only saw the original date of Feb 8th... I went from the first leak to this one.

Can someone post the Kernal, software, etc versions of this new leak so I can verify I actually changed leaks?

Odd that you guys are seeing the same or worse signal strength. Mine is at least 1 bar higher than what it was before. Getting 2 in the office where I used to only get 1 and I was getting 3 at home where I used to only get 1 or 2.

Although, I did have a bunch of network issues at the house last night. Maybe Verizon just updated/upgraded some towers in my area.

We don't have an official version of 2.1 yet. Everything you see posted here are leaked versions for the HTC Droid Eris.

I am almost 100% sure this was just a patch for the leaked version.. and it can NOT be the official. The gmail pics dont work, htc get more widgets doesnt work, only noticable difference is kernel versions, and no google login issues.. its pretty fast yet still buggy.. I am convinced this is not the official update...

I don't think it is the official version either. I think this is probably just a later tester version than what we had before. Still, nice to see some of the bugs going away.
 
Does anyone know how to turn off the haptic feedback for the bottom four buttons on this 2.1 release? I know someone somewhere said it was possible
 
But much better than the last leak thankfully.. I really hope official 2.1 comes soon so that way we can get root for official or leaked roms, I want to be able to get rid of these annoying sys apps..
 
remember the gmail pictures thing is a universal, all android phones, problem. not anything having to do with htc or verizon.

just sayin
 
but 1.5 was able to have pics in gmail, so why is it a prob with these ones? <<<o yea now I remember, theyre LEAKED roms... durr, my bad
 
Rocking with the new 2.1! Many thanks to zxphenomenalxz and OfTheDamned! Dialer lag seems to be gone. Signal is good (3-4 bars) but I can't really compare it until I get home where signal is usually weaker (0-1 bar), even on the previous 2.1 leak. I'll also compare with my wife's signal strength (still running 1.5).
 
I am reading about the 2.1 leaked rom and it seems most people have issues, I think just to be safe I am going to wait it out until this Friday when they release it. (I just spoke to someone at my local Verizon store)
