Word is it's possibly not coming out for a while. Not that I would ever doubt someone in my local VZW store....:rolleyes:

VERY easy instructions, very easy upgrade. I would give it a shot. I'm very pleased and have noticed no problems as of yet.

Anyone that has an Eris with 1.5 that wants 2.1 can switch phones with me. I want a rootable phone which can only be done on 1.5. Pm if interested.

i have a question about google voice... when i went through setup on prev leaked version it would say verifying phone number and then said "we have a problem, number couldnt be verifyed" anyone else have this prob and is there a way around it? I really want g voice on my eris..

If you are at all uncomfortable doing something to your phone, then you should wait. While it may be hard to brick your phone doing this, it can still be done. The leaked 2.1 does bring some issues (minor IMHO) it does bring issues. The the rewards do not out way the problems in your case then don't do it.

Do you have google voice or a google number? There is a difference. When you log into Google Voice on your computer, do you have an option to send sms?

sometimes my phone wont mount to my work pc. i just hit the HTC sync button, then it tries to find the program on my pc which isn't there, then i can mount it. it's weird, but it works.

I didn't know there was either when I singed up. Google Voice by itself will work as voicemail only. A google number will allow you to do voicemail, make calls and send sms.

I am just confused on how to set it all up im thinking since i am struggling with the app I think i should just set up voicemail first and then set up sms and all that other crap after I get the hang of it you know...
 
Okay..so, I currently have the 2.1 leak and for some reason cannot get my phone to find the image when i go into H bot mode and it searches for the image. What am i doing wrong? I deleted the old zip file. Mounted the sd card, opened it ( file path is Removable disk G) and pasted the new zip file in the DCIM folder, which is the "root" of the SD card correct? I have tried it like 5 or 6 times and haven't successfully accomplished anything! Help pleeeease :D

The DCIM is for your phone's camera. The "ROOT" of the SD card is the main area where you see the folders for everything else. Just paste it to your SD card, not into any folders.
 
Did anyone notice the build date of the new leak? I know the first leak was a build that was dated 2-8-10. You can see this when you update your phone. I really do not want to go through setting up my phone again.

Wrong folder. You should see the DCIM folder along with others....just paste it there.

The DCIM file is where your pictures go, not this file. The file needs to be put on the root level of the sdcard. The 'root level', if you don't know, is the same place where you see all the folder names. In effect put it 'next to' your listed folders.
Also, make sure to unmount the phone from the PC before trying to update.

what website do i go to to set up my google voice? is it grandcentral? i type in g voice in google and it driects me to some page saying info, and was this helpful? ....im at a losfer words sista..

ok so i just installed the new 2.1 leak and i too have better signal than i did before. everything else is 'so far so good'!
