With the quickness that Spring placed EVO ads on Engadget, mere SECONDS after the announcement, I would find it odd that it would still say embargoed if it was in fact the EVO. They are pushing it too hard to over look something like that.

The link we have to the list of candidates is from March 16th. I don't think anyone has found an "updated" list. I think our best bet will be once they start announcing winners.

New names for the Incredible:

HTC Duped
HTC Shanghaied
HTC Sike
HTC Lucy (as in Lucy pulling the football away at the last second)
HTC Bamboozled
HTC We didn't land on Plymouth Rock, Plymouth Rock landed on us
HTC Hoodwinked
HTC Hornswoggled

I could go on but I am sure people would just flame me. I am really over the whole announce it now thing. Now it's just funny and honestly kinda sad that Verizon doesn't at least say something to address it's fans and detractors. Even if they said to us "We don't know" it would be something IMO. Oh well.

Back to texting my Tweets :(

you can bypass the testman password by doing the following (I don't think this was cached info).
load verizonwireless.com and navigate to the droid or similar smartphone
remove the http:www. from before verizonwireless.com and replace with testman.
so it now reads testman.verizonwireless.com(plus a lot of random stuff)
Then click on "back to all phones" in the upper right corner (above the droid price).

BTW - if you notice that the droid phone is id#5069, replace that number with 5070 and you get the Eris. Anyone want to search random increasing numbers to hit the Incredible?

i tried that a few days ago with no success... but that doesnt mean they havent changed things since then...

On the FLASH/RAM front, looks like the Incredible supports up to 1gig ROM and 512 RAM:
from radio_1.00.00.02.09.img:
SAMSUNG_512MB_FLASH_256MB_RAM_ID
HYNIX_512MB_FLASH_384MB_RAM_ID
HYNIX_512MB_FLASH_512MB_RAM_ID
SAMSUNG_1024MB_FLASH_512MB_RAM_ID

So, at most 512MB RAM (not 1 gig or other combination)
and at most 1GIG FLASH ROM.

haven't looked for moviNAND yet

I sent a tweet asking what "very soon" meant to VZWOffers....minutes? hours? days? months?

I asked them too. I'm sure we won't get an answer out of them, but I just like to bug them, not like I have anything better to do while waiting.

So, is there an emulator or something we can load this ROM on? Sorry, I just don't know how that all works.

For those digging into it, you can try to use QEMU. If I recall, that's what the SDK uses on the backend to run "their" emulator.

So, if you look at android.git.kernel.org Git - platform/external/qemu.git/tree, that's the emulator. Now to get it running said 140meg+ images...that is an exercise left up to the reader (fancy way for me to say, I have no idea yet).

I wonder who the tweeter is behind the @VZWoffers account. Nice to see them even mention the existence of the INC.

i think you misspelled it, NKT. it is spelled WAIT.

yeah yeah

Leading the way is the HTC Incredible. DailyTech spoke with sources at Verizon, who confirmed that the HTC Incredible was supposed to begin to arrive at Verizon Wireless stores in two weeks. That would make sense as Verizon just announced that it was beginning a test deployment of Android 2.1 to the Motorola Droid smart phones, the same OS that would presumably be powering the Incredible.

dont know how true this is???
