Have a Samsung galaxy s3 I want to use nfc to pay for things with my phone. What the hell is the point having nfc on a phone if you can't even use it?

That's hardly Samsung fault. NFC payment will come but later in the year when the new iphone comes out.

You can use Nfc, for automating tasks with NFC tags, or you could use tasker to automate tasks.
Payments depend largely on how quickly shops adopt nfc.

Yeah I have Google Wallet on my GNex, but its still mostly a novelty. I lucked out that I have a paypass equipped vending machine at work, otherwise I never use it, because the places I go don't have their scanners working, or don't know how to process the transaction.
