On windows you go to task bar an click "safely remove hardware"
I've never seen it appear under this option though, like a USB thumb drive does.
To the OP, I always check the "Remove devices" option, but then, if the SG3 doesn't appear, and it never does, I just unplug it.![]()

I asked Verizon the same question because I never saw the remove device safely option in the tray. He said that as long as that icon isn't present, it safe to just unplug the USB cable. Something to do with how Samsung configured it.
