So I'm eligible for my NE2. Could I go to the VZW store today, get a Droid, and then trade it in for the Incredible (assuming it comes out within 30 days)?

5 Bucks? thats a great deal...have fun with the Droid...

I can't go on for another week with the Dare...

Hope we see the light at the end of the tunnel soon...

The Droid is a great phone. Enjoy it! :)

Yeah, its $95 for me to file a claim with Assurion (I'm on an Alltel Touch Pro that was merged w/ VZW last year), but that could be tricky since its not a verizon phone. Either that or pay $100 for a Droid.

If I didn't need my phone right away, I would give it another week, but a lot of stuff is going on and I need a working phone. With my luck they'll offer the 30 day return policy and the Inc will roll out May 1

That would be past your 30 day return policy though lol. You'd have to get the phone like April 2nd-3rd to qualify considering there are 30 days in April.

OK.. as I sit and wait to get my Incredible BEFORE the Evo sees the light of day, I begin to wonder about even farther into the future, thinking "LTE". I am contemplating the 2 year contract vs 1 year contract for my Incredible. My thought process is, will LTE be available in (or very near) another year from April (when I expect to have my Incredible in hand)? Based on historical differences in price, I can just sell the Incredible in a year and recoup more than the difference in what the 1 year vs 2 year contract price will be for my Incredible. So, to assist in making my determination I need to find out when the roll out of LTE will be for smartphones in my area.

Has anyone seen a list of city names and scheduled LTE roll out dates for Verizon? I've seen them for Sprint and haven't bothered looking for ATT. I figure it would be likely worth paying the extra couple hundred dollars now for my Incredible to be able to go LTE in a year or so (if that's the case). Otherwise, I'll be subsidizing my Incredible purchase and be assured of LTE in 20 months.

Has anyone seen any such lists of cities? Google doesn't seem to be yielding too much for me. Of course it could be that I've used up all my spare time reading here and am not digging deep enough in search results.

Be of good cheer all.... WE will have our phones before our Sprint brethern have their EVOs (hunch/faith, not knowledge).

The first LTE device will probably come out the time the Evo is released but a year after it's released. Basically you probably won't be seeing an LTE device until summer of next year.

I had an Alltel phone after the merger and had to use assurion. It was no problem. I actually got a better phone because mine was no longer available.

Ya, sprint get the evo, at&t or tmobile get the desire, tmobile gets the HD2, and we get the damn devour grrrrr

where are you kappy, montana man, nkt, etc.???

Hold on.... Let me get this... I gotta pull it out of my @ss lol:o:D

I truly wish I had some awesome news for you. I don't. NKT has been quiet tho! :D lol seriously tho, he has been getting more info on his magical screens at work.

NKT, anything??

Wow.....so the embargoed phone was the HD2 for T-Mobile. So now every carrier has had a major announcement except Verizon (oh wait the V Cast App market )

Way to go Big Red. You are releasing an already available phone online. Congrats on the coup.

I just did a search for "Nexus One" on the Testman.verizonwireless.com site and it shows up. Still nothing for the incredible...

Atleast there will be one good device releasing. I could live with the Nexus One easily. I'll probably just root the thing anyway so i can get whatever themes on it anyway.

Also, now that i think about it. For Android 2.1, there isn't much difference between Sense UI and stock. Sense has one different live wallpaper, 7 home pages, and helicopter view. But the thing is, live wallpapers are pretty much the same on both and makes them seem almost identical.

I may think about getting the Nexus One and then returning it within 30 days if the HTC Incredible gets released by then.
