will i lose root if i did factory reset?

dears.
i'm actually going to update my samsung galaxy s2 i9100g form gingerbread to jellybean my mobile actually was rooted but will i lose root if i did factory reset ??
would u explain what is cwm ?? and how can i use it .
and also help me to update my android version ?
 
Check out the all things root forum, I'm site a mod will move this thread there anyway....

So far as I'm aware, factory reset would not lose you root, but I'm sure iron as or hawker wool swoop in and explain more and in better detail, maybe even slug! Lol

As for losing root if you factory reset, you won't.
Basically, you will only lose root if you flash official firmware.
