I remember reading that and saying "BS I'm not waiting that long, I'll get a droid or Nexus one when it comes out in a few months". Wish I would have walked the walk.

Edit: Seems dead on for the Incredible, but off on the Eris 2.1 update.

Honestly had the droid got 2.1 back in January/early Feb I would have bought one.
 
Who was the guy who said he had a source tell him the N1 was out tomorrow?

Damn, I need a new phone...just want it to be the incredible so bad, but think the N1 will be out sooner...if subsidized...I just don't know....
 
Sigh--- so I have been lurking for a couple of months now patiently waiting for a better video, updated pictures and the details to what's inside the mystery .box...

one thing I found is that practically everything on the internet related to the incredible seems to come out of this forum. Not only that but sites appear to act like they have new information when it's just regurgitated information. Like you all I got excited, then depressed when nothing appeared at CTIA, then I got to thinking-- has Verizon ever released a big phone at CTIA? (someone else suggested this same thing).

Well, after scouring the internet for the last 30 minutes I have found the last 4 years of CTIA and guess what? Not one big phone has ever been released during CTIA for big red. Not one. So I am not going to get my hopes up for tomorrow for CTIA and as many mentioned the last day is just get out of Dodge day. I wanted the droid when it came out but didn't want the keyboard. The incredible appears to be the phone we all want and Verizon is always slow to release their phones so this is to be expected.

Don't worry be happy and nobody should be holding their breath!! It'll come out soon enough, I thought yesterday and today it might and did nothing but watch this forum for info. It didn't come and now I am in the acceptance stage. SOON MY FRIENDS. KEEP UP THE GOOD FIGHT NKT, MOUNTAIN MAN... we'll see the confirmed specs soon enough.

I knew my lurking and waiting for this phone or some variation of it for the past six months and reading every post in the earlier subforums would result in some good (contrary to what my wife thinks). I think you are refering to FatedDistress from this thread:

Ok so I spoke to the HTC regional rep and he said that the nexus and passion is the same phone, the nexus is actually made by htc or at least parts are. That will be a gsm phone meaning that verizon will not get the passion. I don't know what the regional verizon president was smoking when he told me over one million units were ordered of an android phone but its not the passion. Now incredible will be a bit different than nexus and passion but HTC rep assured me it really is incredible and its not do out until april 2010!!!

I can remember reading that post and thinking that there was no way I would last until April without getting a new phone but here I am still waiting.

im waiting on a cheesy dick vitale'esk announcement sometime during the final four... something like now thats INCREDIBLE BAAABBYY!!! what ya think? haha
 
I think that we would be giving ourselves false hope by thinking there would be an announcement tommorow, except VZW has robots guarding thier information, i think something would have been leaked or someone would have said something a little publicity maybe, lost of people were already anticipating the EVO, because sprint gave a hint, i am looking towards an April 1 or April 17th release date, either way as long as the phone is out befor July i am good...

I just looked at the tag words associated with this thread near the bottom of the page. I'd say theres some hard feelings here over the past 2 days with tags like 1-800-suicide, anger, htc unincredible, anger,... haha just thought it was funny

the worst one of all was "just get an iphone..."
 
Sigh..no news. O well..what can ya do? I am due for a new phone March 31st. My contract is up in July. I was going to get a new phone at the end of this month, but nothing really pops out at me (except the Incredible and N1). Waiting until July. If Verizon stays on their "Our network is the largest and most reliable" high-horse, and ignores that consumers care more about shiny, powerful, sleek phones than a network (it should be a mix of both) then I am done with them. So, Verizon, you have until July. Otherwise, you are losing 3 more long-time customers.
 
Hey all. Just a theory: perhaps Droid was meant to rule as king of VZW's lineup for 6 mos.? Perhaps there was an agreement with Moto? In that case, announcement mid-april and launch around May 8?

That way, excitement from the EVO will have died down, it might be the only big launch at the time, and it would almost certainly still be available before the EVO.

I feel horrible just posting this, but I think betting on a far out date and being pleasantly surprised early is better than constant disappointment and anger! :eek:

If Verizon is anything like where I used to work then there probably is no release date even set. We would constantly slip our schedule for one reason or another.
 
well, we know the phone is out there... out of curiosity, how long does vz generally test their phones or does it vary?
 
The Droid is so 2009, yes it was groundbreaking, but look at the CTIA, it is a huge smartphone market right now, a big oppurtunity for Vzw to capitalize on the excitement over Android and complement thier excellent service with phones to match, there is a reason why people have the iphone, not because att has excellent service but because even though we might not acknowledge it, it is a damn good phone, If verizon can fix this, they will be unstoppable, heck maybe the "when is the Iphone coming to Vzw" will either shut up or go to att, i know that if my contract is up and Vzw has not released a top competitor in this market i will go for the EVO, call me crazy but i wont use a cardboard to get excellent service...
 
For what it's worth (probably NOTHING) I called *611 today to ask about BOGO, if I could mix and match models as long as they were all BOGO phones and I was told NO. If you buy a Droid, your free phone HAS to be a DROID. So I got to the REAL reason for my call. I asked about the N1 and Incredible. The VZW sales rep said she had no phones with those names in her system. I relayed that I'd been following the CTIA conference and that speculation says one or both will be released tomorrow. She said hold on I'll check with my manager about that. After about 3 min she came back and said coyly, "I was told that I can neither confirm nor deny that information". Hmmm.;)
