Finally took the leap and left my Esteem behind. I'm actually paying less now per month for service (family plan).

Got the S3 ... it's unbelievable.

Good luck with the CM9 boys n' girls! You'll love ICS!

Four persons. Classic plan. 2GB of data. 195/month. Compared to 225.

Once the phones are paid off (they're rolled into the contract), the monthly bill will be about 150.

You'll love Jelly Bean 4.1 even more! :p Left Metro earlier this month, after a dozen years. Got two Galaxy Nexus with 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

I'm also paying less than $50 per month total for AT&T & T-Mobile HSPA+ speeds on my Galaxy Nexus on Straight Talk Bring-Your-Own-Phone sim plan. You can either choose the "AT&T" sim and roam for free on "T-Mobile" or choose "T-Mobile and roam for free on "AT&T".

However the roaming speeds are going to depend on if you have a phone that can handle BOTH AT&T and T-Mobile's HSPA+ bands. So, I chose the Galaxy Nexus because it's pure Android and international GSM, and has the chipsets for BOTH AT&T and T-Mobile HSPA+ frequencies.

Some of the download speeds are faster than I ever got with Metro's LTE.

Yeah, upload speeds could be better, but they are adequate for my uses -- as is the soft 2GB data cap over the mobile network. So far since July 12 I've used about 500 MB over mobile and 1.2GB over wi-fi. Wi-fi, of course, doesn't count towards the data cap.

Unlimited talk text?

500 minutes. For me. I opted for less, because I use so few, thought I'd save a few bucks doing so. Unlimited weekends, unlimited nights, and unlimited T-Mobile calls to boot.

Even more savings: my USF discount. Going to get 15% taken off the monthly bill and eliminate the activation fees. They REALLY take care of their customers. Also, if your company is in collusion with TM, you'll save even more.

On Straight Talk the $45 SIM plan I'm on has unlimited talk/text. Ends up being about $47, after taxes.

Could you explain this "Straight talk plan" and what you did exactly a little more? Im intrigued :D

Like the ATT but roam free on Tmobile or vice versa. What exactly does that mean?

Its a great plan but just 1 catch my brother me and chazz discussed this on howardforums the only catch is that u have also a data limit allowance i dont recall what it was perhaps chazz could refresh my memory it probaly was 2gb per month but if u go past 1 mb they terminate your account/service and u will no longer be allowed to have service with them again. other than that with many apps online that monitors your bandwidth im sure u could balance your monthly data limit with ease. :D too bad they dont have rollover for data that would of been nize lol

Damn that's strict. Wow. Sounds enticing though :)

I had the same thoughts but men I am used to metro straight Talk sounded nice but is not for me I now how metro works and my coverage is excellent no need to leave plus good things are coming our way :D
