Hi,
My device was yakjuwx 4.02 which I just have changed to Goggle standard JB 4.11 using Nexus Root Toolkit v1.52.Using my regular computer (LinuxMint 11 x64) and connecting the device via USB cable. Under 4.02, I used to transfer files directly to the file system. I was able to see the media folders such as Music, Pictures, DCIM, Alarms, Notifications, Ringtones.
Now with JB 4.11, I must slide down the notification area and select USB in MTP mode or Camera (PTP). I am not familiar with MTP, so I selected PTP and all I can see now is the DCIM and Pictures folders. Under Windows 7, I can see all the folders but I guess because there were all the necessary drivers installed when I was using Nexus Root Toolkit. It's not convenient as my main computer is Linux.
Question: how to make the Galaxy Nexus + stock Android JB 4.11 to act as a simple USB mass storage device so it can be used with Linux without any special driver? Or if it is not possible, is there any convenient way to use MTP instead?
Thanks in advance for any help.
