Well Everyone,

As of 11 am today, I'm leaving work early and starting my Vacation:D. I'm throwing the wife and my kids (5 of them) into the RV (no redneck jokes, we have a nice one), and heading down to Disney World for 2 whole weeks. I've decided no laptop, no computer, maybe a tweet or 2, but I need rehab from this place.

No offense to anyone because you guys have been fun to keep up with, but I'm done with the emotional rollercoasters and ready to ride some real ones. Maybe even stop for a drink at The Buck Wild on the way down.:cool:

Sorry I didn't explain better. That article is an analysis of the AMOLED screen in the N1 presumably very similar if not the same screen in the Incredible. Basically, it says that the display of font and some images is worse than the Droid.

Or it could just be something that was overlooked and will be fixed later.

Well in my past experience with Verizon ROMs an HTC Phones ... you usually don't see the stock ROM until after the phone has been released for sometime ... if ever. So I think this may be a good sign we are closer.

as long as you return it and sit tight for a few days (with yer old phone) you can walk in and buy something else.

this policy is being seriously looked at (and might go away in the future) according to verizon sales people and a manager i've been dealing with.

Can you do this multiple times or is it subject to the only 1 exchange policy?

For instance could you purchase a droid Feb 1. Retun it Feb 28, then purchase an eris on March 5 then return it March 30, and still be able to purchase the Incredible on April 5th?

Is there a time frame associated with just taking the phone back and going back to your old phone? I've heard the some people have done this and did not have to pay the $35.00, plus theykept their NE2 that way?

Hey guys, I figured I'd chime in with a little segment of my online chat with a VZW CSR today:

Matt: I know the Nexus One is coming to Verizon, but I don't know that I would buy a phone that I can't actually play with before I purchase it
Cassandra: You will have to wait a few more months until the Nexus comes up.
Matt: Oh the Nexus won't be out for a few months? It says on the website that it is Spring of 2010, so I figured that would be soon
Cassandra: They are thinking about June/July
Matt: I know Sprint just announced the Evo and I would be inclined to go get that if I am going to be waiting that long
Cassandra: I am sorry we can not make the phone come out sooner. It is still being tested at this time.
Matt: The Nexus One is still being tested? I assumed since it is already out for Tmobile that it had gone through all necessary testing
Cassandra: We do not use the same technology as Tmobile they use what AT&T uses. Hence this will be a totally different model than the one they have.
Matt: Understood that VZW is CDMA while T-Mobile and AT&T are GSM.
Matt: when you say "totally different model" should I still expect it to look the same as the one that's currently out?
Cassandra: No.It will not be a clone of the phone that they have. You will need to check back online when the phone is release to see it.






Matt: I've read some things on the internet regarding a phone known as the "HTC Incredible"
Matt: Is this Verizon's Nexus One?
Cassandra: No it is not.
Matt: It looks like a very nice device
Matt: Would it be safe to think that it will come to Verizon before the Nexus One?
Cassandra: I am not sure they have not given us any info on that phone at this time.
Matt: How soon before a release do you tend to get information?
Cassandra: Honestly, it depends on the phone and the hype behind the phone, Sometimes customers know more than we do. They may tell us a week before.

Or you could use this article as a reference that discusses that the Droid finished last of several devices (Motorola DROID, BlackBerry Storm2, Google Nexus One, Palm Pre and HTC Droid Eris) when matched head to head in a touchscreen analysis.

thats what i'm doing. 2 weeks into my droid. but you know what ... i might keep it. (i'm even starting to warm up to the keyboard!)

it ended up being like $75 (after rebates and coupons), as well as a free env touch, bluetooth headset, etc.

so .. i dunno .. gonna be hard to let it go with no incredible anywhere in sight.

No stocking fee if you return your phone in 30 days and go back to your old one. I think (as in not sure) only if you are exchanging phones does they charge the restock.
 
Random question here, say I buy a droid on amazon wireless, will I be able to use my Ne2 at vzw when the Htc Inc comes out?

That article has nothing to do with what I was referring to. I was just trying to post about a recent article discussing a very detailed analysis about the font and image display on AMOLED screen.

not sure. i *guess* you can. i don't think there anything saying you can't.

i will say this ... sales people in multiple stores said verizon is looking pretty hard at this policy. it is getting used a LOT. so, not sure how much longer it will be in place. as long as you purchase with the policy in place, you're ok to return.

i know in my case i would have NEVER bought the droid without a return policy (just cuz i hated the keyboard so much. i want an eris with droid power .. you know, the friggin incredible!!)

Funny story. I did just this. I bought the Droid for $300 on my NE2, and sent in the SKU and everything for the $100 rebate. I received the rebate card in the mail and then decided to return my Droid.

I went to Verizon and they refunded me the full $300, so I actually profited $100 in the end. And I got to keep my NE2. Not bad...

correct.

exchange phone will get you hit with restocking fee.
return phone (and go back to old phone for a few days atleast) no restocking fee.
