Metro could incentivize with unlimited data n hotspot exclusively for S3, no caps /no throttles ever, for say $99

Why not?

I pay $40 and I have the old plan which technically had unlimited data because the "Streaming" data was only used by certain things. My data usage hasn't moved since I got the phone in January.
 
Yes Jeyd02..and not really to most other answers.
For whatever 'unlimited' & low $ plan most of us have now.
we don' get officially sanctioned tethering + full unlimited data @ 4g always.
 
Of course, it would make no sense for Metro to do all that....folks would just want to cancel their home broadband and hotspot everything.

Maybe if hotspot limited to one other device at a time only...
 
W is right metro is nortorious in offering whats already been out there, first the call block sms blocker loooool how long has that existed on the android market be honest guys and for free so why should we pay $1 more monthly when u can get an app on the market that does everything metro block does plsu more? now mobile hot spot aka tethering???? they can block it all they want fact is its so easy to bypass i can do it in my sleep...... will they make money off this? ofcourse too many noobs out there dont know what root is nor anything about changing user agent codes to by pass those blocks. and its sad such knowledge could save u money. but to each his own aslong as every1 is happy right?

Me 2, but only 3 are dumb..add $15 per to go to smart...total would be @ $150...but that's besides the point.

I'm talking about unlimited uncapped full speed, to negate need for home broadband subscription...subtract the latter's price and it would seem very affordable given the convenience.
I'd be willing to pay...if anyone was willing to offer.

I'm surprised there has not been one single partnership of a wireless carrier with a telco to facilitate this.

not gonna happen.

companies like ATT and verizon that provide home internet service would be blowing their own foot off to allow such a thing and they're probably in the courts making sure no else can do it either. that would be billions of dollars lost and would put home ISP out of business.

allowing free and clear tethering isnt a slippery slope, its a damn free fall for home ISPs. this is also much more of the reason why tethering is either not allowed or is limited and much less about how much strain it puts on the network.
 
yea i agree not going to happen alot of people think just cuz they can tether that thaey can subtitute home internet with mobile internet, i mean its good for surfing anc checking ur emails and what not but alot of us love to download massive amount of data and we expect fast speeds from our mobile connection.My opinion its not stable enough for such things i think also we would be abusing it a lil 2 much i mean there have been countless of threads from users asking how to download torrens using tethering i mean really???? even how to tether ps3 or xbox360 to ur phone that in my opinion is pushing it too far.

Nah dont need warez theres already free apps on the market that block calls for u and sms

Tethering to consoles doesn't take much data.

I agree.
But if home internet service / cable generally losing subscribers and/or total revenue, I thought at least one telco somewhere woulda struck a sharing / roaming partnership with some wireless provider:

Get all your communications with us for one price both at home and on the road.

Although this could eat into lucrative business service.
