Considering A Change

I'm due an upgrade and it's a two horse race between the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X. I've obviously done a lot of research on both phones and I'm still torn between the two.

I've never used a Samsung Android handset before so TouchWiz would be a new experience for me. I'm used to HTC Sense so was wondering how any people who made the jump from Sense to TouchWiz found the transition?

Perhaps you upgraded from a HTC handset to the S3, or perhaps you even owned the One X but opted for the S3 for some reason.

Any information would be most welcome.

Cheers.

oh hello, remember me?
i went with the galaxy s3 for this reason
its more powerfull, the screen is hd amoled which is clear as hell
its battery is awesome
it has a fully ripe mod background where people are just doing mad things with the device already (htc one x is behind because of delays in source code)

Of course I remember you, mate! Hope all is well?

The reasons you've mentioned are definitely + points for the S3. I've also heard that TouchWiz is pretty good out of the box on the S3 and less cluttered than previous handsets?

i must say i was worried about touchwiz but its actually quite nice and in some cases much better than i would have expected

The S3 just seems the obvious logical choice on so many levels.

Don't forget the expandable memory...

The smart stay feature is nice - keeps your screen on if you're looking at it.

When supercurio updates his Voodoo Sound project to be compatible with the S3, it will utilize the Wolfson audio chip to its hifi potential (on the International version).

Does the One X have USB audio output?

Hi Johnny, we seem to frequent the same forums :p

I'm another desire user who as recently (3 days ago) upgraded to the s3.
So far it as not disappointed, Screen is amazing quality, i was also a little apprehensive about touchwiz but i'ts slick mate.

Battery as been really impressive so far, was thinking about getting either an extra battery or a more powerful one but after a few days use i see no need for either.

p.s: still keeping hold of my desire and nexus s though, can't give them up :)

Tried the HOX but chose the S3 mainly for the extra storage and ability to use spare and extended batteries - one of the main reasons for going android over iOS in the first place.. Also didnt like tht damn protruding camera on an otherwise very nice design. I liked the brightness of the one x screen and the quality feel of the chassis but felt the S3 was equal or a little better in all other areas.. And apparently the Beats Audio only works if you have enabled headphones? I couldn't seem to get it to make a difference on by BT stereo headphones.

TW is arguably not as nice as Sense, however it's far improved over prev versions and actually pretty decent.
