Starting to worry that rumors of the Incredible's imminent release were just geek porn. Started researching the Eris.

If you had an Eris with OS 2.1 on it, could you be happy? What is the Big Advantage of (what we think we know about) the Incredible compared to Eris? I mean, aside from the faaaaact that it can change traffic lights, factor Pi to 4 zillion dec places, cure cancer, and open bottles using its MIND?

sorry, i was at the the store earlier today and didn't know our MM box had a number. ;)

I don't think he meant that it was being announced TODAY ... I think he was making a joke. It was a response to when the Shadow would see the light of day and he said Early Afternoon as in the middle of the day. Not as In Early afternoon today. Although that would be exciting.

And I could be completely wrong... He may have meant today.

Notice the ;) after he said "nice." That was insinuating sarcasm. He wasn't being serious.

correct me if i'm wrong people - but wasn't there another person who had or new of a htc box delivered aside from MM?

Well, I got a tad bored and went digging through the good old FCC database, and HTC never tested the 5 GHz range for 802.11n. Doesn't mean it can't do it...but noone tested it. However, I don't know if you can go back and change it in software to use 5 GHz w/o the FCC to go over things again...didn't Apple pull this stunt with something (shipped with 5 GHz disabled, then enabled it thru a software patch later)?

But the FCC filing does give us a hard backend of when HTC/VZW would ship the item. All of the docs they submitted that have only a temporary confidentially classification will become public record on Aug. 7, 2010. After that date, the Users manual, internal and external photos, etc. will become public record.

(For those who know how to use the FCC website, the FCC ID I believe is NM8PB31200)

I would think they would just that to extend the window in case something went wrong. In other words. We plan on shipping in April but let's do this under Aug to give us time in case something is really screwed up and so nothing becomes public ahead of time.

If VZW waits until Aug to release this then the EVO and most likely the Desire (AT&T) and the Hero 2 (Sprint) will come out ahead of it leaving VZW with an 8 month sold Droid competing against those devices.:eek:

Theres a guy over on HoFo who's been playing with the Shadow since January or February (he works for Moto), so I don't think it's in Verizon testing yet but Moto's definitely testing it.

good job on reading between the line, I said "I am about done..." not that I was done. just frustrated that we got next to nothing out of CTIA so far.

The eris has a 500mhz processor and the incredible (and evo and n1) have a 1ghz. Twice the speed. Within 2 years you'll definitely want the faster processor for many apps. I wouldn't be surprised to see a DS emu or even a psp eventually and they'll need the faster cpu. They'll be programs other than games, just an example.
