Supposedly this SIII garbage is supposed to switch to 4G automatically..WRONG. Was in an area with confirmed 4G coverage and it wouldn't switch. Setting are all correct according to the technical support guys.

Mine is switching auto (ROGERS)

Often time the technical support guys (typically) don't know too much. Why not provide us some more information so that we can assist. :)

On a side note, it's worth saying that you MAY need to get a replacement device.

Either way, more information is needed for anyone to be able to help you. :) Welcome to AF BTW!!!

I live in Philadelphia where there is no LTE and am in Washington DC now and my LTE came up automatically as soon as I entered the area... AT&T

Verizon, providence RI southern mass area and I have more 3g than 4g
I am still , as it was new , having 3g and 4g issues , they are getting better but I have called Verizon 2 or 3 times now
This is what they tell me
Go to settings, more settings, mobile network,
Check use packet data
Under data roaming allow all trip checked

Do this. Also
Shut the phone down , pull the battery , remove the SIM card for 30 seconds , reinstall everything , turn on

Or just shut the phone down wait 20 seconds then turn on
This seems to help more and more

New one is
Shut WiFi off
This seems to help.

My problem is
Some times I will loose 3g and data or it will be on 1g but will usually switch to 4g in those areas but sometimes not until I reboot or call them

I personally think it's Verizons network not properly set up in my area , very spotty 4g and this phone having a hard time going from 4g to 3g and back
Now I also leave the phone on 24/7 if I shut it down daily , my problem would most likely not exist.

This thread will be a soup of misinformation because "4G" is carrier specific, both on the phones and on the networks.

You desperately are in need of a sedative.
