Another way to take a picture?

Hey guys, I was just wondering if there was a better way of taking pictures with the stock camera. Using the volume rocker? or holding down the screen until it took a picture (like my htc incredible) I really don't like pushing the virtual button on the side.

If other people have input on better camera apps that'd be greatly appreciated too! Thanks!

Try Camera Zoom FX. It has an option to assign other buttons, such as the volume rocker, to take a picture. It isn't perfect, but it might be exactly what you're looking for. It's also one of the most popular 3rd-party camera apps on Android Market... er, Play Store.

Thanks! It's pretty good, only thing I can complain about is that there's a weird torch flash mode...is there any way to deactivate that when scrolling through the different flash functions?

I don't know about that, but you could suggest it. The developers are pretty open to suggestion. I used this on my Rezound for a little while and one thing I asked about was if they could temporarily disable the volume function while the app was running just so I could use the rocker without messing up my ringer volume. I think they actually fixed it, not sure. I don't really use that app much; I'm not a big fan of the user interface, and have grown accustom to the on-screen shutter button, so I only pull it out when I want to make a quick collage picture or other weird thing. The only reason I even have it on my phone is because I paid for it back when I had my Eris. I still think the HTC camera is better. But for your purposes it just may be exactly what you want.

I just wish someone could design a phone with the camera in the center and a dedicated camera button. Less fingers in the way. It would require an end-loading battery, or a sealed battery (ick) but it would be useful.

I'm sorry, am I still talking?
