Help Out of cache space error on update

I'm unlocked and rooted. I was trying to do the OTA to ICS and I got through the first part of the update. My phone rebooted and then nothing. I went to the software update and it says "Out of cache space." I wiped both the Dalvik cache and cache with no luck. I've done battery pulls and reboots. Any ideas? I can't find anything searching. I think I'm alone.

You need to relock... and if you are using custom recovery (Amon Ra, TWRP, or ClockworkMod) you need to flash back to the original ROM for it to work, you can't reflash just the stock recovery. You will lose root in the process and if you need to load an old ROM via RUU, you will factory default as well.

Locking seems pretty simple to accomplish. I do have TWRP but I don't have a custom ROM. So I need to remove TWRP to accomplish this? Can I then unlock the bootloader again without issues?

Yes, you must lock the bootloader AND remove any non-stock recovery for the OTA to work. There is no way to reflash just the recovery so you would have to reflash the entire Gingerbread RUU file to clean everything out and return it to stock before installing the current OTA ROM.

WOuld I be better off just flashing a custom rom?
If that is what you want, then yes. The ViperRez Rom and is one of the hottest right now, very nice from what I have seen... There are also tons of custom ROMs in this forum to chose from.

You could always just flash the OTA RUU file, it is available on AndroidPolice and most other forums, it will still need to relock and it will get you to bone stock, unrooted so a custom ROM maybe the way to go anyways.

Yeah for OTA i had to relock, run the old RUU, update, reunlock, reroot... so custom rom would def be easier.
