Help email app using large data

so im monitoring my data usage everyday and all of a sudden there's 33mb of data being used by stock email app yesterday. i didn't even check email yesterday. what could have happened?

yes i see them having the same problem but none of them knows what's going on. i already tried the suggestion as my phone was only factory reset on july 1

If you have it to sync every 10 mins or so it will eat data up fast

I never found a solution to this, it would work fine for a few days after wiping the app, then use loads of battery/data again. Ended up installing a different email prog and freezing the stock email and exchange services apps.

If your phone isnt rooted this won't be possible.

There's the option to disable both though...

So maybe this will have the same effect without having to root?

If you have it to sync every 10 mins or so it will eat data up fast

i set it to sync every hour
