Root Bluetooth ON reboots phone

DDB75

Newbie
hi everyone,

I'm currenctly running CM7.2.0 RC3
with kernel 2.6.35.13-asn-alquez-eoghan2t7-g5cf4c0b

Ever since I've flashed to CM 7.2 my phone reboots everytime I switch on bluetooth.
I found some threads explaining this issue, and tried the provided solutions. Like flashing to a new kernel (I think I have the right one)

Unfortunately, ... no luck so far :(

I use the BT functione at least twice a day for my BT carkit. And each time, I put on BT, my phone reboots.

Does anyone have another idea how I can solve this issue ?

Help is much appreciated

hmmm Maybe if nothing works, you can try updating to CM 9? maybe that would fix it...Or downgrading to 7

You have to update the Kernal. That might solve your BT restart and you tube problems. Just download the update & Install from here :

cm7-kern-eca-1.zip - cm7-wildfire-s - Update kernel BT and Youtube fix - Unofficial Cyanogenmod 7 port for HTC Wildfire S - Google Project Hosting

If the above link doesn't solve then proceed below:

[Kernel][CM7]Speed Mod - Version 1 uploaded - xda-developers

If Nothing works at all, then follow as Caro said above.

This kernel seems to be doing the trick !
Thanks selvan1975 !
Hope it keeps on working, but first hour is looking good ;)

@Caro, I noticed you're running CM9 Alpha7. Does it run smoothly on a Wildfire S? Do you still have any issues?
I'm not that quite an intensive user ... just (off course) phoning / SMS + calendar + reminders + BT + internet usage.
(I do need to recharge every evening)

Works great!! There are a few bugs but they are minor in my opinion. The most annoying ones are that HD videos and GPS don't work

I'm using Cm9 for the couple of weeks. As of now I won't search any other ROM, it's going smooth, fine & fast. Looks wonderful.

Certainly can go for a try....

do you have a link to that good working CM9 flash file for wildfire s?
And, probably I need to flash another kernel then the above mentioned kernel?

Download the latest Version here
Download the Gapps from: Goo.im Downloads - Browsing gapps
gapps-ics version 20120317 is the one i used and more reliable.

You don't need any updates after flashing this ROM.

what about my installed apps?

Can I do a nandroid backup now, flash to CM9, and then restore my DATA ?
That way, I have my APN settings again, as well as my installed apps?

Not that my installed apps are an issue. They will be reinstalled fast. But, I am using Link2SD now, together with an amount of my SD card as internal memory.
Because that was the main issue of stock wildfire s ... The lack of internal mem.

Will this be automatically back OK after flashing to CM9 and restoring data?
Or best to format the sd card again, and reinstall link2sd and create a new partition again on the sd card ?

Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge ! :D

Do you have a Linux Swap 3rd partition other than ext4 on your Sdcard?
if not you should create it....

Hi Caro,

You mention this Link2SD part in your guide:

Using Link2SD, you need to clear all caches from the app. Then reboot into recovery, install the ROM, install Gapps, then boot. Open Link2SD and menu > more > recreate mount scripts. Reboot.

So, there's no need to do a 'wipe all data', or is there ?
I don't quite understand, how I would be able to use Ti BU after wiping all data. The app will be gone, won't it?

I'm still not quite certain to go to CM9, especially now my CM7.2 is working flawless with the new kernel which fixed the bluetooth issues.
And .... yes I also do use the daily ab workout ;)
But I guess I can start using my android tablet for that then
