Don't leave because of a hand full of trolls and naysayers attacking and belittling you-there are always a few bad apples that try to spoil the bunch. I've been lurking long before I started posting and I know I'm not alone when I say I appreciate your contribution and hard work relating to "the box" or banter in general.

3 Then after he gets told about a HTC Rep going to the store we hound him about why the rep didnt show up on time and when he did He Gets Flamed For What He Sees and Hears.....

If we hadn't heard from Stericson tonight, I'd understand the investigation of this, but (no offense to MM) his story was really secondary to our known reliable source coming and and saying within 30 days

Look, you are all right, if you want to poke holes, there are holes to poke in the story, because he doesn't have anything verifiable for us. But if you want to believe it there are reasons to do that too (his time frame matches up from what we've heard).


The point of the thread is about the phone, I believe, not MM.

NKT - Mid-April (Guessing, but obviously educated guess)
Stericson - within 30 days
Not sure if it was Devdroidian or Sarabsingh who said guys just be patient one more month a couple weeks ago.

MM's guy said "few weeks or so"

Everything on the internet said it could be just a couple weeks. We've heard from people who have verizon contacts saying they've heard of it just aren't sure when.

It's coming and soon.

If MM fooled us all then oh well, I'm getting a kick ass phone in April.

If MM is the lovable nutjob chasing down fat HTC reps, I'm getting a sick ass phone in April.

So please, enough with the annoying banter. Use PMs if you want to verify his story.
 
Thanks MM you are truly a skillful ninja...i just hope the HTC rep doesn't get suspicious and report your friend Dave for leaking info. Also if the rep was really as pissed as MM described then maybe it's urgent and there isn't much time left for the corporate vz store employees to train with it and that means it might be released reaaaal soon =D
 
Why would Montana Man want to make up a story and lie to us? At least he's trying to contribute with rumors and speculation then complaining on this forum.

If you have doubts, then don't look into it and move on. No need to go on a rampage

I think that at this point it's safe to say that everyone knows where they stand on this subject and nobody is gonna change their minds. People have been offended, felt challenged, and it has all gotten blown WAY out of proportion.

This thread has had a LOT of growth over the past 4 hours and it WILL be noticed by the MOD's. You don't think that when they look in to it and see that 90% of the posts have been COMPLETELY irrelevant to the thread topic they MAY close it again. ESPECIALLY with the amount of bickering and Name Calling that has gone on.

WHO CARES ... At this point we need to move on and try to get back on topic, QUICKLY! We've lost this thread once before and Phases graciously gave it back, let's not lose it again ... PLEASE! :(

Everyone just needs to Drop it ... No new posts at all is better than what has been happening the past couple of hours.

Completely agree... seems everything has taken a turn for the worse. It's sh** like this that's going to get the thread shut down.

People need to stop flaming. What happened to self policing?? Just a few days and that is forgotten?


This is a great phone, we should be grateful to any and all information we can get. This isn't an announced device yet. Nothing is confirmed. The info we DO HAVE is from digging around, getting info from any and all sources we can find. Until we have an actual confirmation from vzw, this is what we have... this is where we have to collectively share it, and collectively get excited about it.

Can't we all just get along?

Now.. how crazy would it be if all the pics etc have been leading us astray and its a 4.3 inch screen like the evo? That would be an awesome discovery.

Not saying that isn't possible, but as long as it has the 1300maH battery, I don't see that happening. But if they can switch before the official announcement, I have no idea. Be optimisitic, but not overly optimistic where you're let down, whether it's screen size, specs, or the release date ;)
 
If Montana man was going to create a story to fool the forum. Wouldn't it make much more sense to put some false information out. After all was said and done, the "box" was pretty much a dead end. No information really gained. A box was delivereed to a store that MIGHT contain the incredible. We know the phone exists from evidence that has been discoverd on this forum. So if this story was created it didn't cast doubt on anything we already knew or give us any misleading info.

Personally, from what I've seen, the Nexus's screen looks great. I'm not going to judge it from that one review, but from the collective of how it looks. Of course I haven't actually seen one in person so I couldn't say for certain. But at least from reports, the Incredible doesn't have the same tracking missteps the Nexus has. And based on vzw testing they wouldn't put out a product with that - probably why we haven't seen the N1 yet either.
 
I gotta say it- some folks are just proponents of closing this thread- they were proponents of its closure the last time... it sucks, if you don't like the thread then don't read it- personally I like it, for as much OT banter that goes on, this thread has provides most of the news on the net about this phone, and new stuff pops up almost every day- I enjoy the daily read. The drama of late is pretty weak, though... It's the combination of the influx of a lot of n00bs like me and the lack of new info from CTIA that has folks on edge.

I think we're all ready to go about our business and really want this phone, and F5 is kicking us all in the proverbial nuts with no new news- we could be doing something else but we're afraid we're going to miss out on the conversation of the newest golden nugget of info.

It's a blessing and a curse.

Here's hoping tomorrow brings hella new confirmations and info with a decrease in the drama.

I think you need to read the article to get a clearer picture (no pun intended) of what I mean. The Nexus One has an amazing brightness and contrast level and that's nice, but the pixels are not full pixels. This means that text is subpar as compared to the Droid for example. Viewing web pages and documents (emails, texts, etc.) aren't going to look very good at all. Even if they fix the Incredible's touchscreen tracking, the pixel technology will still be subpar if they continue to go this route. They are VERY different issues. I'm hoping they don't go this route but it's looking very likely. Educate yourselves! :D

NOTE: Most people who don't own a N1 see no issue and are blown away by the phone when they see it merely because it has an amazing contrast ratio and brightness level. The users who are starting to notice the issues are the owners of the Nexus One.
 
First off, my apologies if this doesnt exactly "flow", it's pretty late here. I just wanted to voice my opinion on all the hate going on on this thread. I'm not quite sure what makes someone a "troll" because they merely have a different opinion than most of the people on this thread. As the mods have put it before, this is an open thread to EVERYONE. I wasn't aware the title read "***Official OPTIMIST-ONLY HTC Incredible Thread***". If people don't like what some of the people are saying about Montana and his story, then just ignore them, who the hell cares if they think he's lying, they're all entitled to their own views, just as we are ours. As long as they're not coming out and bashing/putting anyone down, no one should be getting offended. I've been reading this thread for a long time and was upset when it got closed down the first time, and I REALLY don't want it to be close down again. Everyone just needs to calm down, its just a thread and a phone(a F*ing amazing phone at that). I personally like hearing the stories, regardless how true they are or not. In my personal view I believe we aren't going to know anything about this release date until verizon is ready for us to know, whenever that may be. But for now, I would like to keep reading this thread and would GREATLY appreciate it if everyone just cut out all the hostility towards one another, not everyone has to think the same way or believe the same things. Apologies for the long post, tried to keep it short.


P.S. I doubt we'll hear anything about either the N1 or incredible until after the BOGO is finished. What sense does that make for verizon while they're trying to dump their droid and eris stock to announce a new and better phone coming out soon. We've heard April1st a few times on this thread, so I'm staying optimistic about hearing something then, LETS HOPE!!
 
Wow.... Really guys (and gals!)

We have over 300 pages of a strong (soon to be phone) community here. Everyone has came here for information about this phone, even websites post links to these forums to share with others and we have people acting like this? I thought we were mature teens and adults here.

I say thank you to MM! You have been a great help with trying to dig info out from your friend and racing around town trying to find something new to share with us!

To the trolls on this forum, if you don't believe the story, why the need to flame which something yourself cant even prove is untrue?

I hope this thread doesn't get shut down again, but if it does we only have the trolls to blame for... Everyone else has been here to support and contribute to this forum.
Again thanks to everyone helping this thread and keep up the great work! ill be here till the damn phone comes out! :D
 
Alrighty, well I'm officially switching to Sprint in the Summer for the Evo 4G and cheaper plans, regardless if the Incredible is released or not. It will have to be WAY more enticing for me to stay, and I highly doubt that it will be.

Must say I actually hadn't seen that article you linked to. I had assumed it was an older one I saw awhile back. That said, even that article stated that the screen rocked compared to iPhone - and isn't that what everything seems to be compared to? That said, amoled or not, I'd expect the Droid's to be better based on the slightly higher resolution. But again, this is coming from someone that hasn't seen side by side comparisons, and not uber tech-y.
 
dang i go to work, come back and this thread has really gone to crap. so let me get this off my chest. first of all MM doesent owe any one here jack shit. secondly anyone who has provided some useful information has been a great help in helping this community gather information on a device that has not yet even been confirmed to exist by VZW or HTC. and the mere fact that they were able to peice together fragments of information for the rest of us to view, we should all be greatfull and thank them for what they have done. so too all the people that got irate and started with all this negativity because the phone was not announced or even mentioned at ctia, GTFO. we dont control what THC and VZW does. they control it, they control everything about this phone. when its released, when its announced officially. it comes from them. every bit of information on here is rumors thats it RUMORS. nothing more. yes im dissapointed just like you guys. i was hoping for a confirmation, but that never came. did i start bashing the people with the info, NO. and you guys shouldnt either. because they dont have to give us didly squat, NKT, MM, and all the other guys who have contributed to this thread dont owe anyone of us a damn thing. they came across information and they shared it with us. you take that info for what its worth. if you dont like it then leave. but dont start bashing other people because you dont have a neat new phone in your hands to show off to your friends. i want this phone just as bad as the next guy, but to resort to name calling because something doesent pan out, just shows how ignorant you are and we dont need that here on AF. this thread in particular is for the gathering of information and its discussion in regards to the HTC INCREDIBLE. not to berate someone for something they have absolutely no control over. so grow the F*** up or get the F*** out.
