A little off topic (But what isn't these days?) but I hear a few people talking about their Dares and hating on them...and I must say, the Dare has been a solid little phone for me. People have always been surprised that the pics I take are from a cellphone...and for the last two years, I haven't had a single issue...great reception in tunnels and DC's Metro...a pretty decent UI (Though I HATE the calendar...)

My Dare has held up pretty well too, though it has slowed down quite a bit. Im almost sad to let it go, like an old car that always got you where you needed to go. Ill probably keep it as a back up when i get the Incredible.

I think you guys aren't giving the Devour enough credit.....

Yes the Devour doesn't have a high end Camera, nor a 4.3 inch screen, which will weigh more than the devour does. But it does have what everyone in here is craving, The Android OS.

I can see not buying the Droid nor the Eris... Eris Runs 1.5 which doesn't have Google Maps with Navigation, A big problem that should have already been updated, and the Droid has a horrible keyboard, If your not going to use the keyboard like some have pointed out, it is really pointless to buy a keyboard phone regardless of the specs.

Which i realize you guys want the incredible because it doesn't have the keyboard, but i want a sliding keyboard, it's just easier in the long run of things.

You guys bash the Devour because of MotoBlur, but have any of you ever used MotoBlur? I'd venture no. MotoBlur does overkill Social networks, but what they don't tell you is that you can delete all of the widgits off of the home screen and put the clock and weather widgits to have the HTC Look about it. Even though Messages are combined, you can still sort them by E-mail account and set your default view, which is the same for Contacts. Universal messages is just an added feature that you don't have to take advantage of. You can also Choose which Accounts get synced in the Universal, such as work E-mail and Text Messages, but not your Hotmail account.

Besides if you only look at those features of MotoBlur, then you miss the big picture becasue they dont' tell you all of the goods in the adds. The true beauty of MotoBlur is it automatically backups and saves all network and Social Network and E-mail Settings, So if you upgrade in 2 years to another Motorola, you just resign in with MotoBlur on the next phone and not have to program anything. Also if you lose your phone, you can go to there website and track it down, Not only that but you can do a remote Whip, which helps to save all of your personal messages from being viewed .

That is what Makes MotoBlur a great Interface and why i am Choosing it. Not to mention from the looks of things, if you buy one now, you can use your next ne2 to purchase the Incredible because it seems to be that long of a delay at this point.:eek::eek:

This Post isn't to make anyone upset, This is just my view. I just feel like denying yourself one of the great Android phones for another couple of months isn't healthy when you could be enjoying one right now. :);)

Now that i have given my take on MotoBlur and why i think it is superier, What does Sense UI do for you? What are the great features of it? Other than Showing the TIme and Weather and 7 Home Screens, I've not really heard anything else about it?

The Devour just isnt the high end phone people are looking for. People do tend to dump on it a little much. I don't think its a horrible phone, just one meant for the tween set and just not what I'm looking for.

My Dare is still kicking, a few glitchy things, probably from dropping it a few times, but it still works well. It still takes pretty good photos for a cell phone. My 9 month old daughter is getting this when I get the Incredible, so she won't be after my Incredible.

You make some good points and I respect your opinion. But the fact is we want the SnapDragon , 512 RAM, with the latest Android and specs. It's like I told my wife, if you're gonna be stuck with a phone for 2 years (most of us are) then you better get the latest greatest available (or coming soon in our case) so you have some future upgradability (is that a word?).

I do agree with the 2 year contract, I do know going from a flip phone to an android i'm going to be a lot happier. I also agree that the snapdragon is far superier and second to none in the Mobile Phone Processors. I don't agree with overclocking like most in this post do just because it is set at a speed to optimize the life of the processor but that is a user preference. One thing that has stood out in the Devour Comments that i have read is that it is a lot smoother operation than the Droid and some have even commented that it may seem faster than the droid. Some of that could be due to the smaller screen not having to rendor as much graphics as the bigger screen of the droid. But Either way, the smoothness and similar speeds are definately in my favor on this phone. I do feel that the Incredible will Devour the Devour!!! lol But at the same time i know both phones are superior to the Iphone and thats what I like the best!!!!!

Just read something very interesting on twitter...

@VZWoffers I'm really considering moving to another carrier. EVERY other carrier has announced next gen android. What about you !?!

(VZWOffers)
Hey Marcelo, we'd hate to see you leave ... you want Android phones? You will get them :-)

Maybe they're hinting at the incredible? What are your thoughts?

Like the other tweet coming soon. But soon to them could be June. They are really vague they look bad for answering the questions with vague answers.

I don't care for VZWOffers... the cocky attitude and randomness the past few days makes me take that with a spec of a micro organism.

Yeah, it really makes you feel American. (Why is America so Bass Ackward when it comes to cell phones)

It is because we were so technologically advanced when we rolled out landline infrastructure, which became a crutch. much like the Windows 640k syndrome, for those old enough to remember those days.

Great success in one area brings massive adoption, which in turn slows down innovation in that area. We are most likely about to break out of the plateau and start a massive innovative climb. I'd bet within 5 years, mobile technology will be our technology hub, that everything else ties into. Welcome to what Sci-Fi writers refer to as "the Net".

Now if only I could convert calories burned into electricity to charge my phone. Not too different than the Matrix I suppose. Maybe some sort of nanofiber conductive mesh, layered under our skin? As long as the phone is close, it draws from the electrical field?

I don't know why I am writing this. Guess I am a little bored this morning, waiting for news.

It's the same BS arrogant response they give everyone. "Soon" is a subjective term (1 day, 1 month 1 year) and they give it to everyone who asks. Big Red does not care what people want or think and since they have some time before the EVO, Desire or Hero 2 are released they are going to keep pushing the Devour and the Droid.

I assume Motorola could have something to do with it but we shall see.

Fair enough. I guess I'm just looking for anything to feed my addiction :o

same with all of us man. I'm just saying don't get your hopes up because they have claimed for months 2.1 was coming. Soon is Soon even when they delay it 5 times it will still be coming soon.

Nascar-Some good points...I'm glad someone said all that...

Really, this is the problem I have with Palm-Not nearly enough quality devices. We Android fans (and soon to be Android users) should be grateful that phone makers have jumped on the Android bandwagon...I said it before, I'd buy webOS in a heartbeat if the hardware wasn't so awful...I'm glad that not only do we have numerous hardware options, but that Moto and HTC have given us UI options like Sense and MotoBlur...

I have messed around with Motoblur a bit, and am I a fan of MotoBlur...no...but I'm happy to at least have the option of something different....something that many UIs (iPhone included) don't give us.

I actually swung by a Verizon store yesterday, and ended up playing the the Devour for a bit...the keyboard is actually really good. I like it better than the Droid's. Feels like the keys are separated more...and it's a good phone for those people NOT looking for the hardcore processor, and Incredible (I couldn't help it...everyone else does it!) experience that both the N1 and Incredible promise.

Good call...I don't believe anything tech related until it's in my hands and I'm using it. ;)

Looks like VZWOffers has signed up for Android Forums.

JK.....welcome to the Therapy group, my name is woodraskam, and I also have an addiction.

First time poster though Ive been a devoted reader from the start. Just have to say I also have the Dare and it has been a great phone. I bought the Omnia 2 when it came out but returned it cause the Winmo just wasnt too user friendly for me so I'm going to wait for the Incredible as well (hopefully not too much longer of a wait)
