[Verizon] [ROM] AOKP JB-MR1 Milestone 2 [4.2.2] (07.21.13) TORO

Extremely disappointed that stock kernel isn't included in AOKP. With Faux's kernel, my device is lagging. Jellybean shouldn't be lagging; it didn't with the stock kernel. I really wish they included stock; custom kernels should be optional. I tried flashing the stock kernel that's included in the JellyBelly OP, since it's the only one I see anywhere, and got stuck in a boot loop. Kinda peeved (not about the boot loop that was an easy fix; about not being able to use the stock kernel)
 
I think that kernel is the 4.1 kernel. In the AOKP official nightly thread, someone posted a link for the 4.1.1 kernel. Around page 172 me thinks. That thread moves too quickly to follow

What makes me nervous about that kernel is it's the JRO03C kernel
 
Check VZW GNex development on rootz. There's a couple of unofficial nightlies. The only thing unofficial about it is who's putting out the build. They take all the stuff AOKP has merged and put out a nightly. So there's the brightness slider in the newer ones.
 
I flashed 8/13 official build and G Apps and am stuck in a boot loop. It has been about 20 mins now. Anyone had a similar problem?
 
Boot loop or stuck at the Google screen?
Try flashing the jb bootloader too. Also use TWRP recovery.

Did you flash the 8/13 build that you were skeptical about significant changes? :P lol just messin with ya. at this point if they released a new build, it would hardly be different than the old build; not many new features have been merged since the last build except for the brightness slider in the toggle area. Other than that, mostly BTS stuff

Lol I have not but I suppose I can. I figured I would wait it out and was expecting a new build today. But, I may just give it a spin.

Question: Is AOKP the only JB rom you run? Also curious if you use TIBU to restore all your apps etc?

Is it? Yes. Is it the only one I have run? No, I ran CM10 and JellyBelly for about a week each. But that was before AOKP went in to nightlies, and haven't gone back since.

As far as TiBu, when I wipe, yes I use TiBu to restore everything. However, I'm a hardcore dirty flasher :D I only wipe when it's absolutely necessary
 
Yeah I dunno, its just always slow.

Say question. Do you (or anyone else) happen to have the stock Jelly Bean bootanimation.zip handy? I had it but forgot to put it in my Dropbox and tis not in my SD Card at the moment.
