5/23 NE2 for me. Anyone with later NE2 dates sort of selfishly hoping the phone comes out JUST before your NE2 date? Latest and greatest and all that.

I've been hoping that it will come out at least a couple of weeks before my NE2 (April 29th). I like to see what the reviews are by actual users (like you all) before I make my final decision.

Sounds about right. The mid-April launch fits with everything I've seen here. Until I see more info loaded into the system the launch isn't imminent (inventory,launch package, etc...). And mid-April would make it 6 weeks from the time the testers I know received the device. CTIA would have been the absolute earliest I could have seen them announcing and between the Evo and the Moto situation, I can see where they're coming from.

My hope is that once the Shadow starts making it's way out to the testers I'll be able to score an Incredible to play with...

And your not going to knock out the tester, take the shadow from its box which by that point had been replaced by an incredible?

Wow, this is cool....i always was comfy with the April 17th, i saw we all go take a shower, get back to our lives, eat a meal and come back april 15th :)

Skimming through the pages (which kinda reminded me of kindergarten), has testman ever actually revealed a new phone? It would seem like knowing your neighbor goes through your garbage, and throwing the pictures of you affair in the garbage hoping no one will see.

I assume you are saying the shadow will be coming to the testers in the next couple of weeks.

I don't know if you were being sarcastic or serious but..

No, because I know VZW is not dumb enough to put new released phones on a site that is widely opened to the public (and realize, just like any other owner of a web domain, they KNOW exactly who visits their site, and from which website they have been redirected from.. so you better believe they see a huge list of "Androidforums.com/thread/etc.etc." on their log), when they do most their testing within their intra-network, and because I know VZW is constantly doing maintainence on their site as any other large company does which would essentially make "omgz testman is down omg call the cops!!1!1" a moot point.
 
Totally off topic here but.......
Wondering if any former Storm owners that have migrated to a droid or eris would be able to compare the browser speeds for me. Trying to keep up with this forum during the day on my Storm is like using a reeeeeaaaallllllllyyyyyyyy slow dial up connection. it is next to impossible to fully use the internet on the thing for anything worthwhile. So my question is i guess how fast is the browser on the Android phones using regular 3G ( as opposed to wifi)

Also if anyone has any spare Google Voice invites that would be more than appreciated

Ok everyone, I've just had my hope restored! *I'll try to keep this short*

I've just come from my local VZW store, where I talked to a complete moron of a salesman(surprising, I know), I'm pretty sure he's new too cause the manager was giving him tips about talking to Spanish speaking customers (since he speaks spanish) . But, the fact that he was a moron makes this even sweeter.

I go in and go straight for the Droid and Eris. The guy comes to help me and I tell him I like the UI on the Eris better than the Droid. (I'm playing it REALLY dumb, so I said "The way it looks"). here comes clue number 1 that he is dumb/new: He's trying to tell me the difference and he CAN'T REMEMBER THAT IT'S CALLED "SENSE UI"!!

At this point, I lose hope, cause if he doesn't know that, he sure as hell isn't going to know about future phones..

So I ask about upcoming phones anyway, of course he takes me to the Devour (ugly ass thing, btw). I ask "what about "The Google Phone"?"..Clue number 2: he gives me a dumb look for about 5 secs and then says, "Oh you mean the uh..the Nexus 1? I don't think we'll be getting that, they sell that online....yada yada"

Then I say, "what about HTC? Are they coming out with anything new?"

***He says, "They've got one coming out called THE INCREDIBLE, but that probably won't be out until summer"****

To make this story short, I have him put me on his list to call at the end of April with more information about the Incredible.

I know what you're all thinking, "Same old thing, no info." What you should take away from this is that even a new, completely STUPID salesman knew about this phone. I believe that this is HUGE evidence that the phone will be coming out SOON.

I compared the droid & eris to my Storm instore the other day...loading this forum actually. Droid & eris were both faster, and OMG the rendering was much, much cleaner...lot easier to read, and zooming in as much faster.

That was funny as heck ..... but I am not sure it would have restored my mojo waiting for this dang phone to be released.
