Not tried it with Oxo cubes before. We're having spag bol tonight so I might try it.

Oxo cubes, for my American hosts, is essentially dried beef stock. Makes an excellent gravy (as does Bisto). You may have to look hard for it as your average grocery won't carry it unless they have an international isle. I have seen it before at some Kroger, Safeway, Meijer and Albertsons stores.

The XplosiV special bbq

You will need.

Lots of small ish pots (take away type)
Chicken (cubed & mini fillets)
Pork (cubed & strips)
Beef (cubed & strips)
Ribs (the more the merrier)
Sausages (i have a sorts of varieties; pork & Stilton, pork & peppers, pork & chilli the list goes on, no really IT DOES!
A variety of sauces to compliment each meat
Flour tortillas or bread buns/finger rolls
Tomatoes
Diced onion
Cubed peppers
Shredded lettuce

Sperate the meats into pots of cubed & strips keeping meats separate (so cubed chicken in one pot, mini fillets in another and so on) feel free to add in garlic & chillies too

Marinade each pot with a sauce or sauce combo
I usually have 2 or 3 pots of each cubed meat so I can diversify more with flavours

Make a potato salad

Take everything out and get cooking!

Leave everyone to make up their own kebabs with the cubed meats and veg and just cook the sausages and strips at will

Don't forget to get some kegs of good beer in, and some spirits for later!

Pasta bake

You will need
Pasta twists (cos I like em, aiight)
Pasta sauce
Fresh veg
Cubed chicken or cooked sausages
Garlic
Chillies
Peppers
Bacon or chorinzo
Loads of cheese (strong is better)
Small spoonful of mustard powder (English is stonger)

Cook the pasta and steam the veg while frying off the meaty stuff, strain everything and whollop it into a baking / Pyrex bowl, add the peppers, sauce, and mix throughly, top with cheese and sprinkle the mustard powder, bang it in the oven for 30-45 mins and job done, serve and be hailed as a culinary god(ess)

For those who don't know, mustard powder brings out the flavor of the cheese, try it. :D

Where did our avatar's just go ? Are we being shut down ?!?!?!?

Just wanted to drop in and say hello! Name is jmar from Gnexville.

No one invited me but you all seem like a really fun bunch. Plus, this thread really moves on weekends. I was lurking yesterday before bed and read all about Mama 'Lin's impending foray into the world of root. Went to bed, then work. Put the baby down for a nap about 30 min ago. Open up this thread and bam...150+ post to catch up on.

Congrats to Mama 'Lin on gaining root. It's the bees knees!

Hey BB, is that you?

Pup, you are a sucker for Watering Holes!

Treb, trade you some left over Chinese for a slice...I've got potstickers!

AD, do you have a GS3, too?

Everyone else...thanks for having me!
