Long lag after pressing the Gallery icon

Hello, I have been using the Galaxy Note for about two months. Recently, I noticed a lot of the time after I pressed the Gallery icon, it took 10-20 seconds to load the photos. Anybody knows the reason and how to fix this? Thanks.

How many photos do you have?

Where are they stored? If on external SD how fast is the card?

You could try re-generating the thumbnails in Settings > Applications > All > Gallery > Clear Data

Under Gallery, there are two folders both called Camera. One has 414 photos and the other has 211.

I don't know where they are stored. Is there a way to find out? I think the external SD card is Class 4. I did not have this lag problem at the beginning...

Under Settings > Applications, there is no "All" option.

One folder will reside under sdcard/DCIM/Camera the other will probably be located on the SD card. If you are still running Gingerbread then you will find the setting under Settings - applications - manage applications - all.

Given the very low price of SD cards at the moment it might be a good time to get a class 10.

I have about the same amount of pictures and they load almost instantly. I think clearing the app data would be the first point of call as per my instructions for 4.0.x or touringhaggis's instructions for 2.3.
