Root (boost)CWM stock retail backup

I was having numerous issues with OTA updates, and ROMS that incorporate OTA updates. Root/Superuser is very glitchy, wifi tether doesn't work consistently..etc...Maybe it's the apps i use or just have bad luck, don't know.

I backed up my phone before i did anything to it, just restored it and everything works fine again. So if anybody is having issues with updates like i do, here is a clockwork backup that will restore your phone to the exact same state as when you brought it home from the store. (boot(kernel) and system at least, other stuff like radio and recovery would require other means).

DO NOT FLASH THIS FILE!

Unzip the archive and copy "clockwork" folder to your SD card, then go into clockwork recovery and restore this as backup. Run the flashable root zip from other thread afterwards and you're good to go.

Hope it can be of use to somebody ;)

What firmware version is the above? I can't speak for the roms here but the other Ics ones I know if there is issues it is the apps.

Here's a link to 1.11.653.0 nandroid backup zip for anyone who wants it.

I flashed stock recovery, relocked the bootloader, ran the RUU for 1.10.653.2 to overwrite everything and restore everything to stock, ran the update, re-unlocked the bootloader, flashed CWM, wiped cache & dalvik, ran the backup, flashed the CWM root zip, and everything was good to go.

This might be helpful for anyone who ended up with issues after attempting to run the update. Then again, it may not, but it's up there for anyone who wants it.

mrsboots, this is exactly what I am looking for. I am looking to restore my phone to as close to purely stock as I can. Some of this stuff, I have never done, or even heard of. Could you please walk me through this?

This is what I would assume to do:
-BACKUP MY PHONE!!!
-Boot into CWM
-Restore to factory, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik
-"Restore" your 1.11.653.0
-(?)Flash stock kernel(?) (I'm using a non-stock kernel)
-Flash stock recovery
-Relock bootloader

I googled a bit to research RUU, mainly for its definition. As I now understand it, the acronym stands for ROM Update Utility. I'm hoping this is the RUU that you were referring to. It looks like putting CWM onto a device replaces stock RUU. I will search for our device's stock RUU and how to properly flash it, but just in case, can you help walk me through that step? I would assume that it gets flashed while the phone is in the bootloader, correct? I would also assume that it would not be advisable to even try flashing it through CWM. However, I don't know if its flashed from the phone while in bootloader, or flashed from a computer while in bootloader.

I thank you in advanced for your help, and its definitely for a good cause ;)

Edit: I tried restoring your backup through CWM, and it comes up with MD5 mismatch

Neither one of these are the ruu, I posted it a few times where to return to stock you need to edit the misc-image. The above isn't the stock firmware but ota patched firmware.
