Root Help Resetting Phone Back to Stock -- Does Not Connect via USB

My triumph does not connect via usb cord, either into the computer or travel adapter, so I am about to send it back for a replacement since it's still under warranty.

My problem is that I had rooted the phone in the past with GingerBreak and was wondering if it was sufficient enough, (in terms of not voiding the warranty), to just un-root it and perform a factory reset. I also still have the stock recovery on there. I've read: http://androidforums.com/triumph-al...de-100-stock-motorola-triumph-newb-proof.html
and noticed that you are supposed to restore a nandroid backup of the stock mod, however I'm unable to restore any nandroid since I cannot hook up to my comp and put CWM on the phone.

If anyone can help me with this dilemma, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :proud:

since you have the stock recovery and you didnt state it, im going to guess you have the stock froyo still running, in which case, using gingerbreak again to unroot and a factory reset should be all you need

you restore a stock nandroid backup or use b_randons if you are currently running a custom rom and trying to go back to stock

Also, you may want to invest in a sd card reader, that way if the cable stops connecting you can still do everything except connect in download mode

PS: Try resetting both the PC your using and the phone and try and reconnect, my PC does it a bunch where it decided its not going to see my phone then after a reboot it shows right back up

Hehe it's funny that you say that cause I was thinking about stating that at the end with an FYI in front so that it would be more noticeable because I did state it in the second paragraph, second sentence.

Thanks! This is exactly what I was wondering.

An SD card reader came with the phone so I'm all set with that. In regards to it not being recognized via USB, I really think it's a problem with the phone. My girlfriend also has a MT and her phone connects to the computer and travel adapter with no problem. When I try to plug mine in, no luck whatsoever. I've also tried on 3 other comps and had the same results. It's just one of those MT bugs I feel like, or I possibly got too much dust in the port :hmmmm2:.

Thanks for the quick response, it is greatly appreciated. :)

Just glad i could assist you with your questions, also, i completely forgot the phone comes with that sd card adapter lol, but i was speaking of, since i have a pc that that adapter doesnt go into, i got a usb thumb drive type deal that the Micro sd just slides into and basically makes it work like a flash drive
