Help Noise plays when shaking phone

I tried to search for this issue but have found nothing so hopefully someone can help me with it.

Whenever I shake my phone an annoying sound plays from my speaker; it's like a notification because when the phone is silenced it doesn't happen but it also happens whenever I am in a call. I've turned off motion controls(I thought it was part of the shake to update option), messed with all of the sound settings but cannot get this to stop.

The shake has to be mildly abrupt for it to occur and I'm 100% sure it's coming from the speakers.

Does anybody have experience with something like this or am I just losing my mind?

im sure you want to find out the answer to what it is...and i would too if my phone was doing this...but i cant help but think of something my dad used to tell me all the time as a kid...if i had a bump, or scrape of some sort from playing around outside...id say something like...

"if i do (whatever)...it hurts!" his response would always be "So don't do it!"

i cant really think of a reason to shake your phone...so don't...

I get a little two-note ping when handling / moving the phone around, in spite of the fact that I have the motion features set to OFF. I don't need to shake the phone; it's enough simply to tilt it or otherwise move it.

My Moto Droid Mini is also playing a strange noise from the speakers when I shake it. I wouldn't mind so much, but the simple motion of walking while it's in my pocket will set it off sometimes.

The noise sounds like something scraping or rattling. It almost seems like a developer was trying to be cute.

I've tried disabling and uninstalling a lot of apps but I can't seem to figure out what is causing this noise. It seems to have started only recently. Maybe after the update got pushed out to the phone a few weeks ago.
