Also, this isn't directly to you, but i'm Sooo tired of anyone who says that the Verizon Nexus One will be sold in stores. It won't. Period. It will be exactly like the Tmo version. but with CDMA bands (possibly world phone).

Yeah, I don't see why it would be any different either.

But it's funny, more than once I've heard from a Verizon salesman that they WOULD be. I'm not sure I believe them. I'll believe it when I see one in stores.

Before I leave the store I open the web browser on 4 of these phones and google the HTC EVO. As I walk out of the store each of these phones is displaying the EVO as large on the screens as I could get them. I know, childish...

LMAO! Maybe childish, but funny as hell! :D

Because it will be sold just like the subsidized T-Mobile version only at google.com/phone, so Google and HTC are the only ones who handle it. Verizon is just a part of it for the network and plans, not like customer service or replacements.

Thanks for defending me while I was in the shower! :D

Yea probably..........8gb Movinand isn't that big of a deal. It's great that is comes included with it but i wouldn't mind if i didn't have it. Im probably going to buy a class 6 microsd card anyway for Apps and stuff, apps2sd.

I have an ipod touch for my music needs.

In-store support, great but i never even go back to the stores, i havn't had a problem with a phone i've gotten so far and i've never needed to go back for support (knocks on wood). If there is something wrong, i'll just use google and find out the problem. If its something i can't fix, it just goes back to google under warranty, no big deal.

Im just saying, the Nexus One is an amazing phone itself, nothing i couldn't live with even knowing the HTC Incredible is coming after. The next big upgrade after a phone like a Nexus One would have to be LTE. 4G will make a huge contributing factor to a device.

Nexus One and Incredible are both Android, Nexus One will get updates faster considering its google's phone and vanilla. Incredible has 8gb movinand, 8 megapixel, and Sense.

I have a digital camera, i don't know about you guys but this digital camera is certainly a lot better and i wouldn't want to waste it considering how much the thing costs. (panasonic lumix ZS3) I also have an iPod touch for my music/video needs so i wouldn't really need to store music on my phone. I'll watch movies and stuff on the phone of course, AMOLED, bigger screen, etc..

Anyways, what im trying to say, the small features that the Incredible has over the Nexus One isn't as appealing to me now as it may have been when i first looked and heard about it. It's honestly not that appealing at all, nothing to wait over. The only reason i would actually get the Incredible over the Nexus One would be Sense but i wouldn't mind not having it. Having Android 2.1 itself is already amazing itself. Sense UI ontop of android 2.1 is barely anything, watch the Desire videos, idk about you guys, but it looks pretty much the same once you change your wallpaper to live wallpapers.

Basically yea, i'll still get the Nexus One if it comes out first and i don't hear any confirmed released dates on the HTC Incredible.

Im not trying to change any of your minds though guys, by all means, go by what you truly want. Just for me, i don't think theres any huge deciding factors that would make the HTC Incredible stand out so so so much more than the Nexus One making it worth waiting like a month or something. I would be extremely pleased with either purchase.

Just my .02 cents once again haha

I've read about the N1 having dual mics for noise reduction and sound quality. Will the Incredible also have this? I've also read many complaints about the sound quality the Droid delivers to people on the other end of a conversation. Any thoughts?

Yes, the Nexus One has dual mics, one to cancel out ambient noises resulting in greater call quality/voice.

It's unknown if the Incredible will have it, a lot of things are still unknown about the Incredible.

Total speculation here, but, I don't see any reason as to why they would include the dual mic on the N1 and leave it out on the Incredible. Seems to me like it would become a standard if it works well. That is, until they come up with a better way of noise cancelling to improve call quality. But who knows, stranger things have happened. :)

Keep in mind everyone that ROMs for the GSM nexus one might now work on the CDMA nexus one. For all we know, they could have different kernels. It could end up like the Droid and the Milestone. It takes about 2-3 months to convert a Milestone Cyanogen ROM to a Droid. :(

I'm sure that the Incredible will have a HUGE dev following, so I bet we'll be good on the ROMs. :)

They kept it off the Desire, so I see no reason why they would leave it out here. I'm sorry, but I bet that we won't see dual mics. :o

Not many phones have dual mics for one. Second, on the specs sheet of the Incredible thread. It says that it is still a rumor and unknown if it will have dual mics like the Nexus One or not.

Just because its the HTC Incredible doesn't mean it's going to have everything the Nexus One has. It should if it wants to come out on top but it doesn't have to. Honestly.........all the new android snapdragon phones coming out are ALL THE SAME!!!!!!!

Only difference is screen size (HTC EVO), 4G (HTC EVO), and camera (HTC Incredible). They are all literally the same phones, HTC Incredible has an 8MP camera plus 8gb movinand yayyy. Well, the HTC Evo has WiMax and a 4.3 inch screen though its only TFT. I would take 4G over a bloody phone camera/8gb of space any day.

Only other big deciding factor would be SUPER AMOLED but i don't see those Samsung phones in sight anywhere. Also the new GPU in the Galaxy S is crazy but it's only as good as the app developers that utilize it.

All these high end android devices are all pretty much the same with the exception of the Galaxy S and the Evo. I wouldn't mind choosing any of them now to think of it, whichever comes first is getting my money as of now, i have become disgusted with waiting, especially with no hope or information that a phone is coming anytime soon. We'll all be getting an LTE phone anyway next time.

It's either .02 Dolllars or 2.0 Cents

You're opinion is worth more than .02 cents to me. :D

Thanks!
haha true dat

glad to help. I like to think things through and come out with the best possible answers.

After weighing everything together and looking at the whole big picture. I've just decided that i will get a Nexus One if it comes out first, if they come out at the same time or the HTC Incredible comes out first. Then i will choose the HTC Incredible. Either way, no biggy, it's a win win situation. They are both amazing phones and the features differentiating the two phones is extremely minimal, atleast for me it is.

i actually went through the pictures again last night, and I have a feeling that there will be a dual mic. If you take a look at a couple pictures, there seems to be something on the back of the Incredible.

The first picture with the cover off shows a black something to the right of the camera.

This next picture shows that there is a hole cut through the back cover right to the black 'something' in the phone. I think this may be a second microphone......just what I think.

I think that is just the speaker for the speaker phone.

I could be wrong.

Here's a question. Do current phones with speakerphone speakers on the back also use a separate mic for picking up your conversation. Or does it just use the primary mic?

lol okay.

One question though, why are we making such a huge deal out of a bloody dual mic? I mean, it's a dual-mic. Are you going to not get the phone if it doesn't have one? Im pretty sure a dual-mic hasn't made a huge factor in your choice previously and i doubt it will now.

Not trying to bash on you only woodraskam, just saying in general.

What about the touch buttons on the N1...supposedly they are a bit hard to hit as they don't exactly line up with the symbols? And....what about multitouch supposedly being upgraded on the Incredible? Something about the screen going from some blah blah 2000 to a blah blah 3000? Don't remember the specifics. I would personally have the upgrades with regard to touch, storage, Sense UI and RAM. But....will agree...the differences aren't as many as the similarities...and the N1 is definitely, IMHO, much more attractive. The only thing I would say is...use caution...because there may be a few surprises with regard to the ultimate Incredible that we see. Just my two cents! :D

Greetings from the I.O.P.D.! (Individual On Probation Department)

I have a little tidbit that I wanted to pass on - I JUST got off the phone with my VZW buddy and he told me that he spoke with his Regional manager today. He had asked her about any developing Incredible release date information (as he's been instructed to do by me every single time he gets the chance to! ;) ) She informed him that she was only made aware of the LG Cosmos' release date ONE DAY BEFOREHAND! Remember - we're talking about a crappy $30 phone here - and they kept it's release date under wraps until the DAY BEFORE it released!! This just goes to show that if they're going to keep THAT tight of a lid on that P.O.S. phone, then one can only imagine the level of security that's going on behind the scenes concerning the Incredible!!

I agree with you 100% woodraskam, I also believe there will be dual mics and everything i've heard goes right along with that. I really don't see why they would leave that out.

Also, I didn't feel the need to quote your entire post, pics and all. Maybe others will follow my lead on this because so much of this thread is filled with people quoting others posts with pics and videos, we don't need to see the same post 200 times.

No, I was just trying to find anything new yesterday, and I thought that this indeed might be a noise cancelling mic.

As for why we're making such a big deal about the NCM. What else is there to really talk about?

Is it a determining factor to whether or not I buy the Incredible? No. But it'd be a nice little feature to have.

Or maybe the reason why she wasn't given a heads up on the release of that budget phone, was because it was a budget phone.

This just goes to show that if they're going to keep THAT tight of a lid on that P.O.S. phone, then one can only imagine the level of security that's going on behind the scenes concerning the Incredible!!

Ah... I think you might be right. Most of us forgot about that hole because a lot of fan-renders omit it. Interesting indeed.
