Just Installed and working well. I Had a virus issue with the download as well but already removed it. My question Though is how the heck do I get the big Digital clock and weather back on the home screen. Dumb question But I can't get it.

Thank you zxphenomenalxz!

I bought an Eris for me and my wife yesterday. I really had no complaints about 1.5 (except for youtube bug) after playing around with it for one charge. I upgraded to this 2.1 this morning and it is much better. My wife is not as sure about upgrade but when I show her improvements she will probably do it.

While I know I did not really use 1.5 for that long and will never really appreciate all the improvements 2.1 brings, I'm very happy with the upgrade. For me the improvements are mainly speed, market, and interface tweaks. I do not find it buggy at all. Everything I use works perfectly. Did I mention it is faster :)

This is my first smartphone and I'm very impressed. Android is very well thought out and HTC has made a very nice phone.

I made the jump from 1.5 to the new 2.1 leak today. It couldn't have gone smoother. Thanks to everyone who contributed not only the file, but also the tips on installing.

I haven't noticed a HUGE improvement in the snappiness. There's some there, but not as much as I was hoping for compared to 1.5. And all my apps were there waiting to be re-installed. Easy as pie. I haven't played with it too much yet, but one thing I did notice about my contacts is that I used to have a Favorites button in the bottom menu, but it's not there in 2.1. Anyone else notice that? Not a big deal, but I thought it a little weird.

I love that I can now set up 2 gmail accounts with the Gmail widget. Here's my question on that: Is it possible to set up a separate Gmail shortcut for each account and have that shortcut always open to that account? Or am I being thick? Right now, whenever I tap on either Gmail icon, it opens up to the last account I was viewing.

maybe with ANYCUT or BETTERCUT (paid) you can create a custom shortcut and they might be selection in the activity list to choose either gmail inbox. worth a shot.

Not sure if this satisfies your needs, but try this:

1. From your home screen, hit the + button.
2. Shortcut
3. Gmail label
4. Pick your first Gmail account
5. Choose "Inbox"
6. Repeat, but this time on step 4, pick the other Gmail account

Hope this helps!

I read earlier posts... just now. I got the virus, yet I cannot get into my comp, only safe mode. What are the methods people are using? Will the Jdownloader block this type of script.? Because my laptop is completely gone now from this.

I booted to safe mode. Ran a scan with Malwarebytes
(Malwarebytes)

and then ran a scan with AVG free and it got rid of it. I believe part of the virus is lurking in the temp folders. I would suggest clearing them out.

Bingo! Thanks!

Metzy, thank you for the advice but I cannot run any program. It's like my Rundll32 is gone. When I click on AVG or anything else... it opens up in "Open With" then lists things like Firefox, notepad, Quicktime, etc. After about 3 minutes in safe mode a XP security Tool 2010 pops up and just starts going wild, and i'm sure thats part of the virus. But problem is it won't let me run any programs nor will it let me get into msconfig (i could have ended a service that was needed for it, i thought it was a virus cause didn't look familiar, and i'm pretty familiar with msconfig.)

So i can't run anything... Find it strage how it was so easy for everyone else to get rid of it.

I did find it weird that youporn.com and nudetube.com were icons created on my desktop from the virus after i restarted. One of which i've been to before.

Can anyone post the file on another website for me to download please?

I use the app Gmail Unread Count for multiple Gmail accounts. You can have an icon on your home screen for each account, with whatever color you choose and it also lists the number of new emails you have.

Wouldn't that "talk" be largely negated by the fact that a couple of 2.1 leaks have occured within a few weeks of one another, with the second one an obvious development improvement over the first?

Not necessarily. The rumor was that HTC had a 2.1 build but that Verizon didn't want to update to that. As I said though it's all just rumors. But yeah the second leak probably means we'll be getting an official sometime soon. I'm hoping they'll fix the Gmail bug soon.

Well update is working great so far, I have a few questions though. How do I check my phone's awake time %? I can only find where it says up time and awake time and they are pretty much the same. I want to make sure my phone is actually sleeping.

Second question, is there a fix for the browser so it doesn't zoom out all the way? Thanks

for the browser you need to go into setting and uncheck open pages in overview. the awake time you just need to go to that screen where it displays the times, hit the sleep button, wake it back up in a few minutes and check the times to see. no percent is shown in 2.1

K brower is fixed thanks.

But I don't think my phone is sleeping. The awake time still goes up even when I turn the screen off

download SPARE PARTS from the market and you should be able to see what is keeping the phone awake. there is a partial wake usage section and that will list out things that run while it is supposedly "sleeping". There are a bunch of other cool features in there too so its def. worth getting.

I have it, but where is the partial wake usage section? I can't find it

The only things that were up and running in the services section were GTalkService, ObexService, and Swype. I rebooted the phone and it seems to be sleeping now, but these three are still running. I'm really confused lol

And one more question, is there a widget or something that will show awake time? I really want to keep track of this now

I just took the plunge. So far I'm very happy with it.

Only problems I have
1. Contacts are not syncing to profile pics on Facebook.
. Well I'm drunk and forgot what number 2 was. Keyboard is lagging. But it could just be me.

Yeah, the period at the beginning of the sentence would indicate some sort of impairment. :D

it should be under battery history i believe or battery use? (i cant remember cause I deleted the app) but at the top it shows CPU usage and you can drop it down to select partial wake usage.

OK, I have been waiting patiently for the OTA, but am willing to install the leak this weekend, but is it safe to go in the water? All this talk about viruses, malware, etc. has me still timidly sitting on the beach afraid to take the plunge.

Is it safe yet??

Thanks,
Bassplyr

I have been running it for 5 days now,and I cant put the phone down because i keep finding cool stuff to do!....I recommend it highly! I downloaded mine from the link in the very first post on this thread.
