If you use multiple email accounts, can you answer my question?

I use Gmail and have my 5 email accounts running through it. I can compose and email and "select" which email account to send it from within Gmail.

However, in Android on an HTC Magic, you cannot select which account to send "from", you can only send from the gmail account (in the gmail app). Yes, I know you can configure each one with an IMAP account, but I don't want that. I use Gmail to store everything.

So my question to existing HTC Hero users is:

- In the Gmail application on a HTC Hero can you send from multiple email addresses?

The gmail app is exactly the same. None of the Google apps are open source so HTC could not change them. The HTC mail app works for me though. Nice widget, adds multi-touch and adds copy/paste.

I'm not trying to hijack this thread but I have a similar question. I have an exchange email and a pop email set up on my phone. When I compose an email is there any way to tell which account it will send from while composing the email. There is nothing I can see that tells me which account I'm currently composing in?

Any have any ideas? Thanks for your help.

With the HTC Mail App can you also set up your main Gmail account? It does not seem to allow me to but all other accounts are ok.
