Portable car support?

I have to take a long trip in an old car and want to see if I can create a better experience for my GNX. I can listen through a 3.5mm jack on the radio but I don't have any speaker and there is no bluetooth support at all. Is there a portable product that I could take from car to car that might provide: charger, microphone, BT control?

Closest I could think of would be a BT Speakerphone with built-in FM Transmitter. Something like:

Support: Jabra JOURNEY

Obviously there are plenty of options, but this is just an example. They aren't the BEST sound quality, but still decent. I use the original Cruiser in my car for the time being. I'd put it par with a strong radio station as far as clarity goes.

Sabra has three current products -- Journey, Cruiser2, and Freeway -- and it is virtually impossible to identify any perceivable difference between them, save for a bit of microphone sensitivity and talktime capacity. How would one make a wise buying decision between these three?

The C2 is the older of the three. The Freeway adds more voice control to it, and readouts and such. The Freeway and Journey have wider frequency responses which should allow for better audio quality. That's pretty much the most of it, other than like you said, battery and such. Personally, I'd go Journey for my own needs, but your tastes may differ

Because I have the 3.5mm AUX for playing music, my priorities are: 1) to be able to control the phone via voice while driving; and 2) be able to listen to podcasts in and out of the car. How do these needs sync up with your needs, which directed you to the Journey?

I don't do much voice commands myself, my uses are soley phone calls and music listening which I do through the FM Transmitter part of the speakerphones. If your needs include more control via voice over your phone, definitely Freeway. Again though, these are just the Jabra ones. I know Motorola has some similar, etc. I'd check Amazon or at least Google for "BT Speakerphone voice control" or something like that.

Anything with Bluetooth version 3.0 is running the newest version, and I'd look for those before going "down" to a 2.0 unit. Just preference, but no point in not going with the newer stuff. If memory serves, one of the Motorola ones even had an app specifically for more voice control (though that MIGHT have been a regular headset, not a speakerphone). The Jabras were just the first I pulled up, mainly since I have one myself. It was a gift, but does it's purpose. (I Actually have a Cruiser 2 as well, still new in the box that was another one, but the original works fine for me anyway so I never used it lol).
