I've had Elixir 2 for some time but never really played around with it much - until tonight.

So, I'm having battery problems. Massive understatement. I got 3 hours out of it today before I had to plug it in.

Ran top from within Elixir. I lived with top on my Unix days - it was one of my most often used tools. Remembered why tonight. Ran it on my S3 and found a process called gsiff_daemon sucking my CPU dry averaging at 46%.

Still looking in to what this daemon does - it seems to be a Samsung specific thing that no-one is really sure as to what it's purpose is. Killing it seems to have no adverse effect and folk indicate that the process can be renamed to stop it starting.

So, no final answer yet but at least it's a direction.

Hi! Finally sitting after a great day. We had a later than planned start but it all turned out better than we could have hoped. Went through the Safari and, even though it was raining, saw tons of animals. Got a couple good pics - will post tomorrow. Then due to the storms the rides were closed for a little while. Once they opened again we barely waited on any lines. I think the longest was 30 minutes!! It was great. I'm exhausted now though.

How are we tonight?

Pleased you like Elixir 2 K'lin, I'm going to be modifying some icons this weekend so they look better (at least to me) as I mainly use it for the widgets (got a 1x5 9 icon bar on 2 of my 3 screens) once you get used to it you can do a fair bit, specially with profiles. (nothing too complicated, but disable mobile data, enable wifi, change ringer / vibrate) for an 'at home' profile, then reverse it for 'out n about' and shortcut to the two etc.

Treb you causing trouble again? Sheesh man, how hard is it to just sit in ya throne n deligate? :p
 
Mornin' everybody...I'm running on 3.5 hours of sleep and I have a feeling delirium will set in by 10 a.m. I need an IV drop of caffeine. 😴
 
So I've been playing with Google Now. It's actually kind of frustrating. It hasn't learned that telling me that home is 24 minutes away when I first get into work is rather depressing.

Haha, I know, right?
I wonder how much development Google is putting into it. I realize it's a pretty beta product (like all Google software :rolleyes:), but I'm hoping it develops into something really great. Have you sync'd search history from your PC in Chrome? It really opens up the amount of cards it'll give you.

I have. It asks to sync with your Google account as soon as you launch it. It's not the lack of cards that concerns me (you can manually add them, too). Its that I can't change all but the basic things. It gives a traffic report. That's great, but it doesn't follow the path I take, nor does it post it in time, so I only notice it when I get to work. The traffic card needs to let users set the path, if the standard path does not line up with the user. And it needs to let the user set the time to display it. I eat breakfast at the same time every day...that's when I want the card to display.

And the sports card is needing to allow people to add teams. I like the O's and all, but they are not the only sports team I follow.
