I didnt really know where to post this... i know the triumph is a VM only phone so i know this will be relevant here.

My vm bill is due soon so i checked out the vm site for any changes. when i selected to change my plan the usual 35, 45 and 55 options were available but there was another option at the bottom, the plan is not listed here, something like it anyways. clicking it gives another option, a $25/month plan thats exactly the same as the 35 one. after a bit of research i found that there was a 25/month plan 'grandfathered'. i never had a 25/month plan. idk if its a bug or what but it is there, check it out....

yes, the plans were changed in May i think, it used to be i think 25,35,55 and now its i believe 35,45,65

they changed it cause of the new phones, the iphone and the evo V, both use 4g not 3g and wimax and both have tether native altho you need to pay an extra $15 or something for it

unless they didnt change the higher plan, but im pretty sure they did, ive currently got the $55 beyond talk unlimited plan, unlimited talk, text, and data for $55

which actually makes me mad that they want to pay for tetherin, i bought this phone and got unlimited for a reason but apparently my unlimited isnt supposed to include tethering lol not that unlimited i guess lol

Actually, the plans changed a year ago July, when the Triumph was first released. People who had the old plans were allowed to stay. In May they announced that any phone that was released after May 1, 2012 would only work on the "new" plans -- even if you were on a grandfathered plan.

I am wondering if they have alot of the old phones left and are having trouble selling them. It would seem hard to see the old phones as some of the more recent phones are the same price with better features. My thought is, possibly, as a "bonus", those who buy new phones (or have an old phone) will be allowed to become "grandfathered" on the $25 plan until their back stock of the old phones is sold.

I'll call them later and find out....

i did call then, he said that it shouldn't be there and that it will stay 35/month.... idk.

Of course, phone support never knows what is going on. I can't begin to count all the threads here where people have gotten wrong answers from phone support. Unfortunately, one problem with VM is trying to find out an "official" answer, as it seems those in customer support positions are never told what is going on.

I would guess that it was some sort of glitch. If it were something that they meant to happen there would have been mention of it on the website or in other advertising.

All I know is that I can bring up that option on my wife's PayLo account; I did it this afternoon and I can still do it now. If it is still there next week (when my wife's plan month is up) I'll see what happens if I select it.

I have my old X-TC was thinking about seeing what happens if I try and pop it onto a Beyond Talk plan.

checked my moms pay lo non smart phone account and there is no such option, only $35.

It could be a regional thing to get more sales in an area, id strike while the iron is hot.

if that was the case it would advertized.... i think it's a bug.

Just to be clear, you brought up "Change My Plan" and then went to the bottom of the plans and selected "Don't see the plan you're looking for? Click here" -- which is in small gray text? It is only after clicking "Click here", and then going down again to the bottom of the plans that I see the $25 plan, it is the last plan listed.

And I did check, it is still showing up this morning.

I can't see it... just switched to Evo V couple weeks ago and forced to upgrade to $35/month although I don't have WiMAX in the area (San Diego). T_T;;

I see it now. I wonder if this will work with the Evo V or other new phones.

My guess is that those with a new phone won't see the option. I also wonder if there might be some date requirement, such as it only shows up for people who had the same phone on their account before May 1.

That is correct.

I was using a Pantech Link before the triumph.

The other plans link shows up on my Op V line but not on my Evo V line which is basically they way they described it in May...but it shouldn't be available to people like me that didn't already have it! :)
