Help CSC list not appearing.

I've the internation version of the Galaxy S2 (GT i9100) and have upgraded legitimately to ICS. My CSC came as DBT (Germany), however I would like to change it to TLS (Canada). There are a few apps I would like to use but am unable to since the phone's country is Germany.

When I follow the instructions online, namely typing in *#272*IMEI#, there is no list of CSC to choose from and when I try to manually paste 'TLS' in the text box, it gives me the error "Must be THREE chars.", even though 'TLS' is three characters. Any suggestions on how to solve this short of rooting the phone?

Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums neuzebe! :)

As per post #2, here there does not appear to be any ICS firmware for TLS, Canada. In fact, I cannot find any firmware for the GT-i9100 for CSC code, TLS!

The current firmware for Canadian phones is for ICS on the GT-i9100M variant which is essentialloy the GT-i9100 with optimised, "M", firmware for Canadian networks such as Bell and SaskTel.

These firmwares would have to be flashed using Odin and will contain operator branded firmware I would guess. See post #1 in the link I mentioned for details of flashing using Odin. This will, of course, void your warranty.

Alternatively you could root your DBT, Open Germany, firmware and flash a Canadian compatible modem.

Any idea though, why it's not even showing me a list? It did when I had Gingerbread on the phone.

There is an unbranded Canadian firmware for Gingerbread, 2.3.6, but nothing for ICS.

TLS I believe is the CSC code for Telus and I can find no firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S2 with that CSC code I'm afraid. Therefore, even if you could change your CSC code to TLS, there would be no ICS firmware for it as far as I am aware.

EDIT It would seem that the reason that there is no GT-i9100 firmware for Telus is because they went with the, "X", variant. See, here.
