I installed the 2.1 you gave us, pretty cool. But I've seen other eris's with 2.1 with 3D gallery, how do I get that? I have a macbook so any help would be awesome...
 
I do have to throw a positive towards 2.1, it seems the internal compass is a lot better. Google sky maps flows really easy now
 
Has anyone else noticed the icons for programs are not in line when you try to add a widget to the home screens? Visually annoying but not functionally debilitating.

Yes I have that issue as well. Idk how to fix it but I was missing HTC widgets yesterday and got more today automatically so I think there is some kinda of bug with that whole area.

My problem is still I miss the Huge Clock and weather thing on the home screen how do I get that back??
 
Thanks to all and the op of this leak just installed it today (unbelievably simple and quick) and I'm really happy the phone is like new not that anything was wrong with 1.5 mine was great....this is just a lot better. It is faster yes in many ways. Everything for me works great, apps, get more htc, wifi 3g signals better, dialer lag gone, everything. Love the fact haptic on 4 buttons and in general is much more pleasant not so abrupt. Market is awesome now. Are all of you turning animations off? I could go on....thanks again all :)

What? Wait! What?

I haven't done this yet as I'm out of the country (and left my phone in the USA) but does 2.1 make the clock/weather thingee go away?

That sucks. I liked that one.

I have it and it's animated on whole screen kind of cool but I don't use it. It's still there though under htc clock widget.

Definitely still there. With animations. I had "get more HTC widgets" from the start. I upgraded from stock OS (bought the first week the Eris came out). Just luck?

Well after a few days of use, I'm pretty happy I took the plunge. A few hic-ups here and there but nothing that won't keep me up at night. Thanks again for the leak, OP
 
Sorry if this has been asked & answered already....I've read through a bunch of posts, but can't find a clear answer. Do I need to delete everything from my SD card before I do the update or can I just drop the PB00IMG file into the root directory and go through the procedure? Some posts I've read say delete everything, some say do a factory reset. Just want to clear this up before I take the plunge. Thanks.

this has been spelled out several times, just drop the image in your SC root and follow the procedure.
the only thing you need to delete is any previous copies of the image file in case you had downloaded it already.

Astro does not allow for wireless file transfer though, does it? Isn't it just a file manager?
