Root [International] CWM Recovery...

rowlers

Android Enthusiast
Just a word of caution with CWM. It has just wiped my ext sd card. No idea why or how.
Make sure anything of importance is backed up elsewhere!

I had that a few times on other devices. I actually stopped using it. 4EXT on the desire from CWM sources never had this..

(Hopefully Max is porting soon, he is just trying to get the new code released to bigger resolutions)...

A recommendation for anyone who has a wireless network and a computer / NAS that is always on...

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...RrLnRhY2l0LmFuZHJvaWQuZm9sZGVyc3luYy5saXRlIl0.

I use the paid version however as I can run exclusions like /music which is on my NAS anyway

I will be definitely buying that app, I was looking for one like this but wasn't sure which to choose.

Hopefully 4EXT Recovery does come to the S3, I had it on my DHD and it was the best recovery I had, it always performed much faster and seemed a lot more stable compared to CWM (i.e I never had any corrupted files)

rowlers, what were you doing when it wiped your ext sd?

I remember you having issues. I haven't had issue until now. Pleased it wiped the external and not internal - why my good nandroid was!

I had just restored an oldish nandroid (to try and get wifi working on AOKP). when it rebooted I got a notification to say my sd card was damaged:mad::mad:

Its good. Plugs into tasker too although I'm using the built in scheduler.

I.have extsdcard one night and int the next, alternating. Takes w while the first time obviously ;)

I had a nandroid backup that when restored, hadn't backed up (or restored) properly. It left an issue behind that a restore should overwrite

ballsacks, cwm corrupted the badboy then

Certainly looks that. All working again now, just as well I had nothing of importance on there. All photos are sync'd to dropbox :), other thatn that just music and video that I've put back on, oh and some nandroids of various ROMS I'm playing with - alss now backed up onto my netbook.....
