I was simply trying to understand why the N7 was so popular, now I have a better understanding. Maybe I could have worded things differently, but hey. It's still not for me. My line of thinking is just that with bigger devices they should have better spec on across the board than they currently do, especially as top end phones are largely faster than most tablets.

I'm all for learning and such, I wasn't 'dissing' the N7, it's just not for me, those who have one are probably more than pleased with it.

I think the reason you aren't seeing tablets with better specs are two-fold.

1.) Keep price below laptops
2.) Keep battery life respectable

I have no doubt they could pack in better specs in larger tablets than what are in phones, but like I said before, top end phones are $599+. Top end tablets are right there in the same price range. Ultrabook laptops start in the $700 range.

Two cents on tablet specs (and only two) -

Tablets are unloaded from phone tasks; screen resolution could be better on most, but with the expectation of length from eyes vs that for a smaller display, may be unnoticeable.

And specs don't tell the whole story for the user experience - they're useful to determine class of device for pre-shopping, marketing Kool Aide otherwise.

I have before me (quite literally) two phones with 1.5 GHz dual core processors and the same amount of ram. One is faster than the other.

Your mileage may vary, but in my opinion only, nothing beats a test drive. :)

It wasn't me. I didn't do it! I swear!

I just drew a sketch of the accused K9. Are you saying this isn't you ?
