I'm hoping that over the next few days we'll have enough new reports in that I'll feel the same way. I don't post too often, but I've been lurking for quite a while. I'm going to hold off on letting my excitement build again until some more sources come in confirming additional stores are starting training.

To the people that have come up with the latest news today, many thanks! It does sound like some good news is coming in. If some additional sources report store training or other news tomorrow it sure seems like it'll be pretty safe to get excited about a release very soon!
 
so i saw a post on facebook from my friend that stated he's about to give up on a good android phone...here's his post....

After what seems like, and probably is years of waiting for a decent Android phone, it looks like i'll be jumping on the iphone bandwagon. Jailbreak here I come

and my response...


NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T DO IT! one of THE best android phones should coming out by mid to late April! please, for the love of all that is good (android) and evil (steve douchebag jobs) I beg of you, please do not cave in!
I play soccer with an apple exec and I told her my distaste and hatred of apple yesterday...she offered me a NEW... 3gs iPoop to try and change my mind...I told her that not only will I decline the offer, but it now makes me hate the fruit even more! just google "htc incredible" and check out the specs...it'll be on verizon soon as will the google nexus one! both much better than the iChoosenotto device that's speculated to be a phone...but if you do get one, you might as well wait until summer for the next one, slated to release in June.







i just wanted to let everyone know that i'm trying to do my part and get the word out there for those that don't know. this is one of my best friends and i had called him a few months back (before i even heard of the AF and this thread) for his opinion on an Android phone. he had told me to wait for awhile and now he's thinking about jumping ship. he's also the one that's told me all about ubuntu...i'll continue to do what i can to keep him android bound.

and yes the "free" iphone from my soccer teammate is true. she work's on the executive floor with apple and fairly close with steve jobs. she didn't like what i had to say about apple, but it's how i feel and they can't change that right now.

as for training at vzw store's this evening, i went by one near work about 30 minutes ago (930 pdt) and didn't notice anything unusual other than more cars out front than seems necessary. i saw an employee cleaning the windows and didn't notice any other choads/drones roaming the building...
sorry for the long story....

She was very snippy - I said my verizon store rep told me that the store was training on the ADR6300 this week...and she said...

"I don't care if he had training on it...it's not released so it doesn't exist!"


BUT i pressed hard, so i deserved it...whip me, beat me, call me trash.

Now all we need is some more confirmation of training on the HTC Incredible, more sources please.

i love the it hasn't been released, so it doesn't exist line! My former student has not been trained yet.
 
Just an FYI...

I worked for Alltel for 3 years and Verizon for the last year (recently left). I worked as a retail rep.

We never were informed of a phone, to the best of my knowledge, before information about it was available online. We all signed confidentiality forms, but when you have a thousand reps, how could you expect every single one of them to keep a secret? I really don't think a retail store will have info or receive a handset prior to info about the device has been released/leaked online first.

Also, our store meetings were ALWAYS on Friday mornings.

We never had a meeting about a particular handset.

We never had meetings after hours.

When a new handset was coming out, we usually get a promotional package with details and a dummy handset less than a month prior to release. Usually the promo kit wasn't in our store more than a week or so prior to release.

Often, a new device would just show up in freight without prior knowledge. It typically was not this way for higher demand devices but was sometimes the case.

Most importantly, I think info people have been gathering for weeks from retail reps has been nothing more than that rep speculating. We did have a trainer in store for the Alltel to Verizon conversion that had the Motorola Droid prior to its announcement. She was a tester for new devices. However she kept it hidden in her backpack until the day the release announcement was made public. She then pulled it out and let us know she had had the device all along.

Device testers are the most trusted employees in the company. Retail store reps are not trusted nearly to the extent of these testers.

Hey all, I'm a long-time lurker (since the beginning of January), and I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I'm so glad to hear about the good news after the CTIA fiasco, and it's great to see so many people contributing!

I definitely would have gone down to my nearest Verizon store tonight, but I'm stuck on a college campus without a car :(

Thanks to EVERYONE! I'm definitely sticking around after I get my Incredible!

I was just thinking about how I'll finally be rid of my voyager too. Doing anything cool was impossible on this phone.

Great to come back a few hours after last reading this thread to see things are looking very bright for a release within 2 weeks.
 
Sorry but I call fake pic as well by IncrediblyAnnoying. No glare off screen for one see how the shadow is fuzzy from the camera taking the pic? It should be crisp and sharp. FAKE!!

Who cares anyway...it doesn't provide us ANYTHING about the phone, even if it's real.

Just had to point out another lier in here. This has become more of a sewing circle than about any other thread I have seen. I am officially not looking here anymore good bye and thanks for all the cheese!
