Hello and welcome to the forums Paul - thanks for joining!! :)

I am sure we will be able to help you out... if you want the stock recovery back, why not just flash an RUU if you are staying with the stock ROM?

How did you root? Could you let us know what the info is when you go to hboot (when you hold the volume down key and turn on)?

I have managed to get stock recovry.img from the rom i Downloaded.a few hours ago.Now help me plz.How can i flash it now safely.

Thanks in advance brother

I have rooted it via Unlockroot.exe software.

Since you are s off you can basically delete everything from the 3.12.405.2 ruu, except recovery and the android info text document. You can then rezip those 2 items ,rename pd98img and flash in boot.

Or,I can do this and upload it for you,but I won't be home until later this evening.

Thank u brother,it worked.U r a real hero....

Another query brother i hope u dont mind.Is the present software number of htc dhd is 3.12.405.2?

DId u updated DHD between recent few months?Any software update?

No,that is not a prollem. The ruu You use should match your version number.

The .2 above actually was a typo,id forgotten wat version you had

itz ok bro.u r very helpful.

can u plz tell me how can i change nmy cid.at present i am in super cid 11111111.

i am unbranded.what cid should i use?

a dont know my previous cid.

Wat is the reason you wish to change it? I would pretty strongly recommend to stay supercid. It can make recovery in some situations considerably easier.

Ahhh gotcha. There are a.couple.ways to.change it. The easiest is prolly to just run the aahk.. it.has options to unroot,s-on,and change cid. I.woukd think you want.to use HTC__001 for an unbranded device, but woukd have to.check wen I get home to the pc.

Hopefully one of the guys can link you to the aahk.

Sorry for jumping into this thread but just a general question based on CID....if I go into bootloader and system info my CID is 11111111 (super CID) but if I check it with CID getter it says VODAP001. It used to be branded to Vodafone before I rooted it. Any reason for this two different values?

I now believe it's because when you super CID the original CID (VODAP001) gets backed up as such and that's the one that CID reads first....correct. Apparently by using adb commands you can change this to just to a super cid value. Would this make any difference?

1st question is how could i know my previous original cid.i did not copy that beforr, sorry.

2nd,is there any gui based software,by which i can do this stuff.i an not too much familiar with cammand prompt.

ive experienced this as well, tho i cant recall wich phone it was on now :o

do you have adb/fastboot set up? put the phone in fastbooot, open a cmd window, and enter:
fastboot getvar all

and check that corresponding output for superCID. as long as you get 11111111 from fastboot getvar all or fastboot getvar CID i wouldnt worry about the CIDgetter app. it is likely reading the CID from the build.prop file,or somewhere else that doesnt really know ;)

the program we linked for you is just that: it is run on your PC and you just select menu options, there is not any commands to be issued in the cmd window. :)

hopefully the fellas can give you a lil more instruction on using the aahk to change CID,as i have never done it this way(i am a fan of the command prompt ;))

I am unable to roll back to my stock CID :(.Can anyone please provide me step by step easiest guide,by which I can do this?

Thanks in advance brothers.

Did you try using the AAHK? It is relatively straight forward... run it from the computer and follow the otpions on screen to unroot (which also allows you to change the CID).
