I'd like to start a petition to earn the release of our captured brother Kappy. His voice is too beneficial to be silenced and manipulated. I'm conviced that he has been thoroughly rehabilitated and is no longer to theat to the posting society. He's ready to rejoin this discussion in it's full capacity. PLEASE ENTER A THANKS AS YOUR SIGNING OF THIS PETITION. Let our "Incredible" voices unite!!

I'm all for freeing Kappy, but I don't just give away thanks, but I will start adding a sig to all of my messages.

Free Kappy and Montana Man!

Is there something wrong with this picture? The Official HTC EVO 4G thread is 19 pages long, and nobody over there seems to be ecstatic that they have an awesome phone coming out. On the other hand, we have only speculation and leaks to go on, and we are absolutely rabid.

Well, I believe it is that we are all Verizon, Alltel, or soon to be Verizon customers. I also am pretty confident when I say VZW has been behind the curve in terms of phone technology. We may have the best network hands down, but if we can't enjoy it with a slick new device loaded with features, then what good are we as Smart phone nuts?

The incredible could be the bit of relief we need, the Nexus, as well as the Incredible are going to be two phones that Verizon will start to be recognized for. We had the Storm, but that failed miserably, even in its latest revision, countless blackberries and slow WinMo phones. Then finally we got the Droid, a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. Now with this proverbial techno phone tunnel opening, we are preparing to be bathed in the wonderful bright photons of the Incredible, warmed by the initial technology the Nexus pioneered to give birth to the Incredible. We'll be able to brag about network, and phone. That, is why we are rabid.

/end first post.

I'm not sure if this has been posted, but I haven't seen anyone post links to Maximum PC. Here's a nice little tidbit of info. HTC is expecting to ship a whole lot of phones in the second quarter and oddly enough, this article mentions the Incredible as one of them. I say odd because it doesn't officially exist yet. Check it out here.

So I just got a call response from an e-mail I sent to the CEO. It was a woman who was very soft spoken, so I had a hard time hearing over the "cookie, cookie, cookie!" in the background. I forgot I was carrying around a small bag of cookies.

Anyway, she told me that even if she knew a release date she wouldn't be able to tell me. She went into a whole they have to keep up on the competition. She made sure to push that she does not know the release date. I asked her if she could confirm the existence of the device. She told me that I was enlightening her as they are told of a device's existence until launch.

I dunno. I wish I could have asked more but "Cookie, cookie, cookie" and "Bob the Builder...Can we fix it?" Are distracting and I'm partially deaf so there were also things she said that I missed.

Well..........this may be a more concrete guide to release dates:

# For Eclair project build pro - HTC Incredible - 5wwrQyTz - Pastebin.com is an Eclair project [Android v2.1] build that was made on 24 March. In the build comments is the line [# For FOTA bug report].

This is obviously a VZW build of Android. Lets assume that its the final release candidate build that is approved by VZW. If this is the case, then there is going to be some delay for that build to get into production and be loaded on the ADR6300 units being shipped from HTC. Its possible that its a post-release update, but unlikely.

On this basis, the timeline from build to production load to shipment in quantity is likely to be a couple of weeks at least. I'm guessing that any ADR6300 units in circulation are loaded with an earlier build. These are probably the watermarked versions we've seen in pics. All this suggests that it might be mid-late April earliest before stocks loaded with the 24 March build are in the stores.

This build may be a red herring, but for lack of better intel I'm taking it on face value.
Here's the top of the build text:

  1. # For Eclair project build property customization
  2. # For FOTA bug report

Is it just me or does it seem like the EVO hype has ALREADY died down? Maybe I am just biased (ok I def. am lol), but def. seems that way.

So moving on... (THANKS AGAIN GUYS!! ;):))

What are the first things everyone plans to do with the incredible??

This will be my absolute first time owning an Android phone, so I'll be spending a lot of time just playing with the interface and installing some apps.

I suppose that I'll get that app to check for the multi-touch issues as well if it hasn't been tested before I get one. (Although I'm getting it no matter what at this point.)

Not to be a downer, but this type of dump could really come anywhere in the development cycle. It helps confirm that the phone is real, but I don't think it does much to confirm any type of release timeline.

Free Kappy and Montana Man!

Oh and I only wanna be freed if I can jailbreak my buddy MM

As I've said, I have been playing a lot of M W 2... I don't leave anyone behind ;) :D

I didn't mean to leave Monty Man out!! He's more than just a poster, he's a field agent. Free Kappy and Monty Man!!

The reason I did this is that will all of the posts, I've begun scrolling for posters that i feel are legit. Giving these guys a gag order is detriment to the thread. They are sorry for their transgressions. Let's parole the veteran posters early. C'mon. To forgive is Christian.

Honestly, it will be me first Android device, so I'll be playing with it constantly and setting up everything. I just cannot wait for this freaking device!
