OTA 2.1 Has started..

Wouldn't the update.zip still be on the SD card after the upgrade? My phone still has the update file from the last update.
 
I know we shouldn't give him a hard time, but what are the odds that a) one of the 1,000 getting the OTA at noon would be on this forum and b) he'd be the one guy who contributes to this forum and didn't know what to do with the update? *sigh*

Ok so far...here's the scoop.

Live wallpapers...on my phone anyways, KILL the phone. Typing using the on screen keyboard, or physical keyboard lags like hell.

Even with the live wallpapers off, the phone seems to really be dragging at a snails pace. Texting is lagged still...

Can't find where the extra home screens would be. Nothing under the settings options. And a long press on the home screen yields nothing as well. /shrug

The gallery is REALLY nice though.

I live in CT, got my droid the first morning, and have had a gmail account since day one. I dunno if any of that has anything to do with how I was selected already....but...there ya go. /shrug
 
i think my wife got it as well, i told her not to update but shes at work and im on my way out the door. if no one has pulled the files by the time i get home tonight ill put it up for you guys.
 
so for the rest of us that have no idea, if we get the update what are we supposed to do so we don't get lynched by everyone else on the board? LOL!

Hmm....I wonder why my SD card still has an update.zip on it. I must have copied it to the wrong location when I did a manual update last time.

Bummer! I was hoping he could still grab it and upload it for us.

Well it sounds like it deletes the update.zip after you update your phone (per several other forums/posters), so I would suggest trying to find a way to tell it to download the update but then not continue with the prompts when it wants to restart the phone, etc....that way it should be downloaded to the SD card but not yet updated on the phone...just a thought

So the guys that have received the update and posted pics are still lying? You're quite the skeptic. And, you will look quite silly as more proof rolls in.

It is "working" but throwing over 120 exceptions....it makes the phone run even worse than it does on the stock home launcher.

When I get home this evening, if no one else has gotten the update, I'll check the SD card for any remnants of the install file.

i told her to just ignore it completely. and not to do anything at all. i told her i will take care of it when i get home from work. and she usually listens to me. sometimes
