They are just updating the os on them, not getting rid of. If they were getting rid of them, they wouldn't bother making the effort to have an update for them to 2.1

Or they could just be doing their customers a favor, and updating their OS. I remember reading some other document last week from Sprint I think and it showed an update to the RAZR2's firmware, I'm pretty sure they aren't selling that device anymore, but still can do some updates for their customers.

Its still in stock in Youngstown OH... but I'm not seeing this as any big deal. I don't see Moto giving up this slice of the pie and discontinuing the Droid... well.. not until Droid 2 comes out.

That isn't the best strategy. Whether you like Moto Droid or not, it's a solid phone. Devour's specs don't stand up to Droid's - It's bigger, heavier, smaller screen, lower grade camera. The only thing that is better is the keyboard and maybe the battery life.

Also who knows when Moto and then VZW will upgrade Devour to 2.1? It's probably not at the top of their to do list.

Right now, Droid is at the top of the phone hierarchy while Devour is like a marginal step up from Eris (and even that is subject to debate). When Incredible is released it will take the place at the top with Droid being a close second.

A little off topic, but how stupid is apple to announce a verizon cdma I phone days before the ipad is released? I know id be cancelling my order and waiting for a cdma version with a forward facing camera for skype. Those people who prepaid must be slamming their fists on the table right now. Luckily their mostly douchebags anyways.....suckerss

I haven't really looked into it much, but if I remember correctly a lot of the hearing aid stuff can be found in the FCC filings.


Edit: I don't really know how to decipher information from them, but here's the fcc link.

I know kcoan said he would be watching the forum at work today and said he could use his phone to update us when he found out about his box of doom (or promotional materials). kcoan, anything yet?
 
Quick question for CURRENT ANDROID users.

I am going to test a droid to make sure android is okay for our company using touchdown (we are coming from BB's). A co worker WANTS the DROID, and I want the INCREDIBLE but before we move fwd I have to test.

How easy is it for me to switch him to the DROID when I get the INCREDIBLE?

I.E. Any purchased programs, re-setting phone (wipe) etc?

Another reason is another user wants a DROID as well and once we decide we are going this way, they said I can come in within 30 days and get the other free.

Please respond quickly.

I'm not an expert on the differences but the DROID uses stock while the Incredible uses sense.....there will be some differences.
