most likely. the employees on the east must be saying "we better be getting paid for waiting around for 4 hours!"

Sprint.com is down!!!!!!

Don't know whats up......went to login to sprint and it said it was temporarily down to try later. So being a good "patient" person, I tried a minute "later" and now it says cannot validate my login?

OK logged in.....all's good with the world again

How are you guys buying Sprint stock? What company? I am seriously considering buying around 100 shares. Which site would be the best to do this?

I have some questions regarding the EVO that in the first 13-14 pages of this thread was not mentioned, or perhaps I missed it.

I've read reports that the browser will come pre-installed with Flash 10.1. Is this like flash, flash?

And what I mean is that when I go to a website and there is a link of a video I can click on that and watch the video, or will I get the little icon I get in my G1 every time there is a flash video in a website?

I don't care about flashing ads, I mean the actual software? Flash 10.1?

Also, EVO will be 3G/4G connection. I live in Orlando, FL, and I don't even know when 4G will be available, but until then my connection will always be 3G?

I will never go to EDGE connection?

How's the 3G network from sprint? Is it strong? Good? Ok? Decent?

Thanks in advanced.
As Jackson mentioned, the EVO will be the first handset to have Adobe Flash 10.1 preinstalled on the browser.

I've been looking for a transcript of Dan Hesse's keynote, because I'm almost certain he said something about the EVO having Flash 10.1, but so far no luck.

One article I found was HTC Evo 4G, First Android 4G Smartphone by Sprint. It's stated that it would support a Flash 10.1 enabled browser and Outlook Exchange support for contacts and e-mail.

What caught my eye was the support for Outlook Exchange. A lot of corporate users need this, but it's only supported on a few devices including the Black Berry and that's one of the reasons the BB is so popular among business users. Someone asked about that feature before CTIA and I didn't have an answer for them.

i was looking foward to camping out outside the mall for the release. but it looks like ill be getting mine in the mail because of how my dads company does things with sprint.

I will be getting mine the same way Dylan. My company gives me new phones once a year, through our contracts with Sprint, Verizon and AT&Turd. My last one was the Pre, so if it is a June release, it wil be perfect timing.

Hello everyone, just thought I'd pop in and say hi. I participated in the Sprint thread but seeing as that is now closed, I thought I'd finally join the forums here!

I had a question that perhaps someone can answer.

In an edgadget article, it lists a higher number on the Snapdragon for the EVO than for previous devices. Does this mean an improvement on the previous Snapdragon processor in any way, or is it simply a different number because it's the CDMA version?

"with a Snapdragon QSD8650 1GHz processor under the hood (the CDMA version of the QSD8250 in the HD2 and Nexus One)"

Just wondering, thanks!

Check this out, it shows all the devices that have that processor (click on button towards bottom):

It says the incredible will be released before the EVO. I suspected this when there was no info about the Incredible at CTIA. I think Verizon didn't want to compete for attention with the EVO which is better specced, and that they planned on waiting to announce the Incredible when it's ready to ship a few days later.

Doesn't matter to me at all, but it does seem a little foolish to brag about how the EVO was announced and VW loyalists got burned, when they could actually get their sought after device before we do with less wait after the unveiling. We'll just have to wait and see.

A lot of people have asked about sprints coverage and pricing. Here is a website with a lot of info. 2010 Sprint Plans | Mobile Broadband Review
They ranked sprint better than the others. I also noticed PCWorld did a test and picked the sprint cities that were not upgraded to the Rev-A so speeds tested much slower. They must be pro AT&T because they showed their speeds much higher, this is why you have to research and not believe the media. Or research your area because they are not all the same 3G.

With most EVO users still in the 3G areas, you should read this info about people receiving large overage charges from other carriers. When a phone like this is used as a mini laptop / wifi hotspot it won't take long to burn up 5GB. or 300 MB Roaming. That's where you get burned big time on roaming braodband.

I spoke with a sprint tech today asking about Central Florida and he told me Tampa / Lakeland area was on EVDO Rev-A 600-1.4 Mbps but Orlando / Daytona was not upgraded and still on 400-700 kbps according to his info. Plus there is a lot of roaming out there when your away from the populated areas. That doesn't make sense that Orlando would not have been upgraded to Rev-A but that's what he said. 4G is on the way but it's going to take some time.

I was talking with advanced tech support today also and explained my plans to get the EVO and he said Tampa was working on 4G and should be getting it pretty soon. I said, not according to sprints list of 4G cities. He said, no it's not on that list but they have places in the works that have not been posted yet. This is how rumors start but lets hope it has some truth to it.

Verizon is playing games with their coverage map, don't think that big red map is the solution.

Just a little heads up for those new to this REAL smartphone arena.

I had a sharebuilder.com account since the 90s. Eventually they were bought by ING, so I have my account through them now. I purchase stock through my ING/sharebuilder account. Hope that helps. Here's a link in case you're interested:

I just wanted to point out, the Supersonic and the EVO 4G are apparently different phones. It seems as though the Supersonic may be the GSM version of the phone... well at least thats what someone mentioned at xda in the EVO section.

Anyone have any info on this?

Thanks stkshooter. Although this information is interesting, I noticed the source for the information is AT&T, so I see it basically as propaganda.

As far as 4G coverage in Florida, I'm in the same boat as you. Sprint has a 51% stake in Clear and they're the ones building out WiMAX. If you look for information coming from them, you might get a different picture.

SoFLO has done quite a bit of research on Clear and has listed his findings in the 4G/WiMAX Coverage (sticky thread). If you look there, you'll see quite a few Florida cities listed including Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville and Tampa Bay. So it's on the way and I expect it to come quickly, so just be a little patient.

I really expect the EVO to start pushing the WiMAX build out. On another note, Clear and Sprint are pushing for 4G standards, which I think is a great idea. Clearwire Paves Way for LTE in US.

Welcome Android 17 and thank you for joining us here. When I looked for an answer to your question I ran across an interesting article: Sprint Evo4 Chipset, QSD8650, Supports GSM and HSPA.

"The QSD8650 that will come inside each Sprint/HTC Evo 4G phone supports a number of networks, including CDMA2000 1X, 1xEV-DO Rel 0/A/B, GSM, GPRS, EDGE and HSPA networks. However, it
